Line went through SW Houston pretty quickly. A little over 1 inch of rain and gusty wind. Didn't see any hail in Westbury.

Re: APRIL 2019 -- Weekend Rain/Severe Weather Possible
As of now a bunch of us are stuck in S Padre Island due flight cancellations that began around 3:30 AM. Nasty squall line approaching Harlingen ... and they laughed at me for driving ... ;) There are far worse places to be stuck. (As long as you’re still on the island.) It’s dry so far up here 13mi...

Re: March 2019: Chilly WX. Freeze Watch Hoisted
I'm not so sure that the clouds will clear out in time for us to freeze tonight. As for today's temperature, we may not top 40 degrees. So far, the coldest day this winter occurred in mid November when the high at Bush hit only 43. Today may turn out to be the coldest day of the winter, as far as th...

Re: National Tropical Weather Conference 2019
Since I won't be speaking (and they won't cover my expenses), I won't be going. I calculated $1000 for the hotel, $200 for registration, and $250 for the flight. Add in meals and it's over $1500. Driving down there wouldn't save much.

I doubt that if he took a close look at the situation then he'd be forecasting any significant snow in Texas. 12Z Euro indicates a trace of snow a...

Re: January 2019 - Active Progressive WX Pattern Ahead
I see Brooks Garner tweeting about an "Arctic Blast" arriving tomorrow. I don't know, but lows in the mid to upper 30s doesn't seem like Arctic air, to me. It's only about 8 deg below normal. The Midwest is seeing the Arctic blast, where temps may drop below -30F. Upper 30s to upper 40s is an averag...
