Re: May 2024
0z HRRR has a bullseye of 10+ inches in Harris county fwiw. I'm not concerned about it yet but I'll be watching to see if future runs continue to show it. qpf_acc-imp.us_sc (3).png Seeing how the models have significantly underdone totals, and we have over 24-36 hours to recharge the atmosphere, I ...

Re: May 2024
The slope/angle of the coast also plays a big part,as the more east you go in SE Texas at the same latitude the closer you get to the Gulf. While Beaumont's latitude is farther north than Houston, its also closer to the gulf due to the angle of the Texas coast.I use to live in Louisiana also and Miss...

There is a marked difference in relative humidity % between Hou...

Re: May 2024
It does rain here a lot, but I thought the Houston area got just as much, or at least similar. Beaumont gets 65 in of rain/year like Louisiana. IAH sees 51 inches/year. Hobby sees 55 inches/annum on average, Galveston sees 47 inches/year. Moving SW or NW of Houston, things dry out fast as we enter ...

It's feast or famine. 3.83 inches from the latest MCV this morning. That is 10.24 inches of rain for the week! Welcome to Texas! We'll continue to see a ramping up of extremes in Texas over the coming years. Longer periods of drought in the summer and more flooding rains. Stratton - you must be thi...

Picked up 1.12” here, portions of east Harris County picked up 3-6 inches yesterday. Went as expected then. 6.41 inches was our final tally. Storms kept forming over the house. Fortunately, after midnight the MCV moved south... ...but the analog for me in terms of round after round after round of h...

Enhanced risk for tonight. (What I posted earlier) Are y'all looking at mesoscale models?🤷♂️ The storms to the Northeast are the same storms that will congeal into a MCS and move southeast with the front late tonight/overnight.This MCS looks to effect areas along and east of I-45 all the way to th...
