The remnants of Nicholas look cutoff to me. That should mean higher rain chances for us as the high to the east builds back in.
The GFS has been shoving the remnant back towards Texas increasing rain chances by Friday.

Re: September 2021: Hurricane Nicholas

It could have been a real bad core event all day if it wasn't for shear and drier air degrading it through the day!

Re: September 2021: Hurricane Nicholas

The 2 big models show that wave dissipating around or north of the islands as of the 0 and 6z runs. Still way early in the game for the waves though and lots can and will change!

Re: September 2021: Hurricane Nicholas

The GFS sure had this system covered! Some didn't like its modeling for it, but even covered the reformations! One other model was not good at all for it, especially for the rain forecast! Maybe some people don't like posting a forecast or opinion about it, because of the risk of being called out fo...

Re: September 2021: TS Nicholas NW Gulf Threat

It has a nice looking partial eyewall and may be a hurricane soon (half cane like Barry last year). It saw land within a few miles and said nevermind.
Overall the GFS has been the go to model for this system. No 61 inches happening from the EC model yesterday!

Re: September 2021: TS Nicholas NW Gulf Threat

On radar it looks like it is almost due south of the city already and the shield of rain is hardly progressing northward from where it is.

Re: September 2021: TS Nicholas NW Gulf Threat

Almost looks like it hit the brakes and turned eastward before trying to make landfall. Similar to hrrr runs earlier.

Re: September 2021: TS Nicholas NW Gulf Threat

Back to the original coast rider track all of a sudden. May not be far enough east with more center reforms likely.
