First it is a hurricane again. 75 mph
Second there is a tornado watch for the southeast half of the area now.

That's why i like this forum that bickering is minimal and being a small forum and local you can get great reliable info from some really knowledgeable members.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

I don't really much more east shifts past Galveston. More than likely between Freeport and Galveston may be the best bet. The spaghetti models currently are tightly clustered and seemingly getting tighter. Don't have much of an analog system since they don't usually recurve quick this time of season...

Re: Hurricane Beryl

I would advise getting some supplies, especially water today if needed. Knowing people how they love to raid stores in events like this, things may become difficult to find!

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Hopefully that qpf map above verifies since it looks like everyone, even south-central Texas would see much needed rain.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

They don't change track on intermediate advisories
Looks like a well developed core again with maybe only a little bit of time over the Yucatan coming up. Looks like some fairly good agreement on the track overall between the models, will see about the ICON model though.

That track would provide beneficial rains for plenty of areas that need it!

Re: Hurricane Beryl

I wonder what the odds of this going east of here instead of south? Seems trends are ongoing and seen it many times before that they keep going east. Way too early for that though with it being so far out still...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion

We will need to monitor 95l very carefully in the future. Yes there will be our heat dome, but it could move or break around the time the system gets to a more interesting area track wise. Both models show a Carib cruiser.

It also has a 60 percent orange by the end of 7 days now.

I see a straight forward easy forecast of another Mexico special even further south than the previous 2 systems.

Re: June 2024

Well it is donut hole season here in Texas looking at model precip maps and seeing the high settle right over or near enough. That should mean Texas is closed for tropical business until it moves away or wekens some. The texMex border and Mexico is in play though.

Looks like this latest band pushed most over the 1 inch mark. Might be good that the band isn't stationary since it has high rain rates!

Re: May 2024

For those around the Beaumont area, looks like a flash flooding threat is developing with very slow moving storms firing and sitting over there.
It will be interesting to see if they back build into the Houston area overnight since the Atascosita area has showers now.

Maybe better luck later with scattered showers developing possibly meeting up with the activity to the west. We will see. That part of the line isn't moving anywhere fast though.

Must be stable in the center of the area cause it seems to fall apart as it rolls in each time.
