Re: December 2016- Tracking Arctic Air/Christmas Outlook

Yeah, but the Mosquitos still seem to find a way to survive this weather and come out to annoy the living fire out of you when the temps get just a little decent!!

We're looking at upper-30s so far tonight. Hopefully the wind stays up so we can keep the atmosphere mixed.

Re: September 2016 -Cold Front/Cut Off Low/Rain Chances

Started the morning with a 20% chance of rain, so, of course, we got 5 INCHES of water today.

Re: September 2016 - Isolated Rain Chances

92L is a faded memory, but Newton and the front may trigger some happiness. Somehow, we were left high and dry the last few days, while areas east and west of town saw shower.. High dew points (78°F) as a muggy reminder of what could have been IMBY. We got 3" in northern Brazoria Co. yesterday...

Re: Tracking the Tropics: Hurricane Gaston & INVEST 99L

There's a pretty good amount of shear where 99L is now, which is probably contributing to the lack of development. As it moves westward, it will be moving into an area of less shear, which may help it to develop some.

Re: August 2016: Significant Pattern Change/Rain Chances Ret

Alicia was also my first hurricane experience. Interesting that it formed from a low just off the Miss. coast! We still have the generator my Dad purchased after that storm. :) Imagine that taping up windows was _the_ thing to do back then. I did, however, help board up the front windows of the buil...

~2.75" in my silly little glass 'test tube' gauge from the rain we had yesterday/last night. There was a LOT of lightning yesterday evening. We're over by Clover Field in Brazoria Co.

Re: August 2016: Significant Pattern Change/Rain Chances Ret

<sigh> Weeks of cloudless skies, and now days of rain and clouds during our best chance to view the best Perseid Meteor Shower in years. :(

But we DO need the rain!
