Re: November 2021

Who’s actually getting rain? It’s hitting a wall as it hits Harris county. Just drove from cypress to willowbrook and not a drop.

Re: November 2021

Right at a 1/4 here in Fairfield so far. I wasn’t sure why the models were showing widespread 1-2.5” rainfall. It’s better than nothing.

Re: September 2021: Hurricane Nicholas

I think people are surprised by the winds because a certain met said the Houston area probably wouldn't even see tropical storm gusts. Most people went with that. I'm near Lake Conroe Dam and have been getting tropical storm gusts since 5:30am and still ongoing. I would definitely stick with the NH...

Re: August 2021

I had to go back to my job in Rosenberg tonight to lock up for an event and wow, did they get a rain over there! I’m guessing they got every bit of 4” there if not more. It was a lake! Then on my way back home I ran into it and was driving back down 59 south and could barely see anything in front o...

Re: July 2021

Na its a bust regardless I don't know about that. Its done exactly what it was supposed to? It rained a ton down south near matagorda bay and the surrounding areas. If anything id say the time frame of clearing out was more of a bust reading space city weather and others. 1.5-2" is common in H...

Re: July 2021

Im not sure how this is a bust. It was never called for more than 2-3" inches in most of the metro and surrounding areas. I know some areas to the southwest got dry slotted but there is a strong storm pushing up from the south right now. Its not over.

Re: June 2021: Watching The Bay of Campeche

It’s not uncommon when surface temps get close to 100f. There’s just so much instability that it creates some massive convective bursts that then collapse into a downdraft. Yep! Reminds me of when I was a kid and it seemed like we would get pop up strong storms quite often in the summer times. Mayb...

Haha my future cast has this just suddenly falling apart and heading north. I hardly ever look at it but it was pretty funny to see. Things are about to get going here in Cypress. Hope all are safe.

Re: April 2021

Satellite shows a period of sun coming-up for the next few hours - that should heat things up for later today. I think there may be a bit more instability than expected with the sun coming out. Our good friend Captain Cap will keep it in check have no fear! Haha hope we get some showers blossoming ...

Re: April 2021

"Points South of I-10" need to be the target this time. i think we have had one good storm of 1+" since the freeze here in Cypress (A strong night time thunderstorm back in March). The forecast have continuously called out for areas north of I10 to get 1-2" of rain for a couple ...

Re: April 2021

12z EURO came in pretty wet, while the GFS is much drier over the area.Models are still struggling on how to handle the upper level low over the sate this week. There is a big difference in the qpf amounts the models are projecting currently over the area. I'm going to put my money on the GFS... Pro...

Man I was really hoping we would get that 1-2” this week but it just didn’t happen. We got a 1/4” or here in Fairfield. Is the HRRR still looking healthier tomorrow ?

Heavy sleet and snow mixture in cypress still 30.4 degrees. Sleet is slowly starting to build up along the base of the trees and plant coverings.

Re: February 2021: Arctic Outbreak/Winter Storm Warning ⚠️

Light rain and 30.4 here in Fairfield. Small ice sickles forming on the garage. The rain must be going through the warm layer aloft as it’s actually warming the ground a bit based on my very unscientific IR temp gun.
