Re: June 2025

After looking at the HRRR and excessive rainfall maps presented last night i was a bit surprised to see the radar look how it looked this morning when i woke up. .32 in Cypress with just light rain with a few rumbles of thunder off in the distance. The coastal counties really got some heavy rains an...

Re: June 2025

Man that main thrust really fell apart as it hit Austin County. Even still we got 1.3" this morning in Fairfield section of Cypress with 2"+ rainfall rates from 6:20 to 7ish at times. Thats almost as much as models were showing me get for the whole week. Nice start.

Re: April 2025

We ended up 0.22” in Fairfield. Had a decent rain come through around 915-945 or so. Highest rain rate was .5 an hour. Hoping more develops but it’s not looking like much at this point this evening.

Re: April 2025

We were just a bit too far west I guess here in Fairfield cypress. It developed a bit past us and north of us but mostly went around with .02”. Was hoping for .3-.5 today.

Re: March 2025

May have hit the jackpot with that storm. Heck of a lightning storm. Picked up 1.58" last night. I took a chance and put some weed and feed down yesterday evening just in case. Worked out perfect.

Re: February 2025

Temps at my house in Fairfield continue to fall way over performing from the forecast. We are at 28.4 now. My parents out in Cat Spring got down to 23.7 and have risen to 25 now.

Re: February 2025

Looks like most of us got bumped up 5-6* as the coldest air pushes to the east.

Re: February 2025

Seems like the heavier rainfall mostly north of I10 is a bust again looking at the radar. We've gotten 0.03 so far in Cypress but at my office in Katy we are a tad under an inch so far with some pretty heavy stuff.

Dew point here in cypress up to 25, temps 30.4 and humidity is 84%. Getting a pretty good dusting. Paving still has a ways to cool before it starts to stick though at 37*.

Re: January 2025

Just dropped to 32.0 in Fairfield and ground temps are dropping quick with the sleet. Fingers crossed this turns to 100% snow soon and picks up intensity overnight.

Re: January 2025

Taking into account what was supposed to happen, be prepared to be lacking. Maybe we can salvage something. Things are still shifting. Louisiana is going to steal our joy this time. Beaumont may get lucky. Be happy with what you get. This whole event is beyond the norm, no matter the outcome. Quite...

Re: January 2025

Maybe the HRRR ends up being right but i don't have much faith in it. I can count numerous recent rain events where it showed "most of the heavy rain north of I-10 or east of 45 or along the coast etc and it ended up being the opposite. At this point its time to now cast and trust the meteorolo...

Re: December 2024

Hope everybody had a great Christmas. Christmas Eve and Christmas morning were wild In the Fairfield Cypres Area. Hail at 3:00-4:00PM with .77” of rain and it rained from 11:30 til 3-4AM that night and picked up another 4”+. We will see what today brings.

Re: December 2024

Lots of rain and thunderstorms north of here. Thought it was supposed to be mostly offshore. I haven’t been paying much attention but wasn’t expecting the radar to look like that today. Same. I just watched KPRCs video forecast with their futurecast from 830 this morning showing lots of storms fill...

Re: November 2024

Darn we missed out on the good rain in NW Cypress with .02” that was just enough to wet the ground. The cool air sure feels nice compared to the swamp it was this morning.

Re: November 2024

Hit the jackpot this morning with a nice 2.52" from the storm. Filled up the Koi pond and should keep sprinklers off for a considerable time.
