Re: May 2024
Looks like the ridge over Mexico might be too close to give us much rain over the next week or two. Guess we’ll see what that ridge does, but that’s the reason why south of I-10 hasn’t had that much rain overall.

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
The Eyewall @TheEyewallWx · 18m A tremendously aggressive forecast from NOAA this year. Add it to the litany of forecasts that say things similar. This is the year to be prepared and hope some kind of fail mode is realized. Most aggressive May forecast ever put out by NOAA. Keep in mind, they’re co...

Re: May 2024
I really dont see any sort of big heat ridge setup in the guidance anytime soon or even perhaps for the next few weeks, GFS continues to see a couple of cold fronts sliding through over the next few weeks! We shall see I'll believe it when I see it. I feel like we are charging forward to another sc...

I’m gonna go ahead and guess that Greenfield, Iowa tornado was an EF4. Damage looked very bad.

Yeppers! The CPC forecast today reflects it. I think they’re a bit too bullish on the heat though.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 2:16 pm Cpv17 yep no heat ridge and numerous disturbances passing through the state bringing rain with even another front diving down in the 10 day range

Re: What started your interest in weather?
For me it was my dad. He was a weather freak. He always had a weather radio going in the kitchen. Growing up in Texas City I would always hear stories about Hurricane Carla at every family event. Texas City was flooded out really bad from Carla. Most everyone that lived on the areas near the dike a...

Re: May 2024
I finally just got my power back. I love my tropical cyclones but please nothing more than a strong tropical storm or category one this year. I don’t want to go through this again anytime soon. Sorry if you mentioned this already, but did your property receive any damage? No thank goodness outside ...

Looks like most of the rain should stay north of here as of right now. Operationals look pretty dry for southeast Texas.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 4:15 pm Unfortunately im not seeing much of a dry pattern in noaas 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks, still favor normal to above normal precipitation across our neck of the woods

Re: What started your interest in weather?
My interest in the weather started very young. I was probably around 5 years old and my older cousin took care of me a lot and he was always keeping track of the weather and watching TWC. He’s the one that introduced me to it and now I know more about the weather than he does lol when I was in middl...
