Re: June: Meandering Upper Low/Stalled Front With Heavy Rain
This is frustrating. Cleveland must have their "Anti Rain" Shield up again. We missed out yesterday and it looks like today won't be any different. Yesterday a big batch of rain developed just west of us and then just south of us.All we got were a few sprinkles. Our house , literally, miss...

Re: May Weather Discussions. Drougnt Continues For Houston
I'm just outside of that tornado warning, a bit to the north of it and we're getting a nice steady rain, lightning but surprisingly not a lot of thunder or at least not the loud kind of thunder you would expect with a severe TS warning. Weird.

Well, well , well...i didn't think we would get any rain but thunderstorms and lots of wind woke us up around 2:30am and it's still raining. Thunderstorm was quite heavy and LOUD !
What a nice surprise.

Re: Planting Forecasts. Come Talk Gardening!
Depends on what you're planting. Tomatoes, for example, require temperatures of between 59-68 degrees for optimum fruit setting. Wait too long to plant them and the plants won't mature until after average our morning low temperatures get above 70 degrees in May. That would significantly reduce frui...

Re: Planting Forecasts. Come Talk Gardening!
Thanks wxman57.
Hmmmm...i think i rather wait a few more days and see if this will really pan out or not. With my luck, i plant everything and then it gets too cold for them and everything dies before it even has a chance.

Re: Welcome Back Weather Forum Community
I was pretty worried, didn't know if the forum had got the cut or not. Pfew.. In future down-times, perhaps Srain/mod can log onto the old "z.forum" and post a status on what has happened to the new forum. I see the old forum is still there, so maybe we can use it as a back up? One other ...

Cirrus Kelvin-Helmholtz? It could be a weaker (less turbulence) version. They are a rare cloud formation, though. http://wearestjohns.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/cirrus_kelvin_helmholtz.jpg Yes, "Cirrus Kelvin-Helmholtz" , that's the name i was looking for. Thank you for refreshing my ...

Re: January Weather Discussion. Severe Threat/Cold Blast Com
Okay, I am really not understanding where Tim is getting this data from. It matches none of the models, none of the other forecasts...it's so far off the charts. Am I missing something? First off, he is predicting the best chance of severe thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon and evening going 80% dur...
