Re: May 2024

Well that was a wild ride here in timbergrove, glad to finally getting power back but understandable that it’s been taking them so long. I love a good strong (but well behaved) thunderstorm, but man that got dicey in a hurry. Sounded like a freight train for a good 10 minutes. Here’s to hoping that ...

Re: May 2024

Latest HRRR runs keep pushing the initial development out in front of the main line further south into the Houston metro. Going to need to keep an eye to our SW for that to pop here in the next couple of hours, but that has me concerned for our neighbors up north that have been hit so hard over the ...

Re: May 2024

Worst of it looks to be south of I-10. Noticed that trend on the recent HRRR runs this morning as well, keeping most of the action to the south/southwest of I-10. Models seemed to have struggled with the timing and growth out west this morning and will have to play catch up so it will be interestin...

Things finally seem to be getting started, albeit much later than what most models hinted at for most of the ...

Re: January 2024

Both a flooding and isolated severe risk according to the latest WPC and SPC mesoscale discussions for the area overnight. At the moment it seems like the line of action generally remains the same as it has been most of the afternoon and evening, just extending now further SW. Let’s see what happens...

Re: May 2023

NW Harris Co getting dumped on and these cells don't appear to be in any kind of hurry to go anywhere. Looks like another feast or famine type of day for most of us. Hopefully that outflow can drag some of the precip back south and get a few more folks in on the action today.

Re: May 2023

Looks like everyone is in for a wet morning, but all the mesoscale models seem to propagate this initial band through at a decent clip. Think tomorrow appears to be the more concerning day for most as the low slowly pulls NE with what appears to be some healthy feeder bands. Depending on the positio...

Re: October 2022

Hope the NAM 3k 18Z run hits the jackpot. Shows pretty much all of Harris Co in the 3-4" range. It's more bullish with the moisture in the morning feeding up into the low before the main line comes through later in the day.

18Z HRRR looks concerning in terms of slow moving / training storms & precip in and around the Houston metro overnight with some embedded nastier looking storms. Something to monitor.
