Re: September 2024

The recent misty rains didn’t do much around here. The ground is still bone dry so the grass is already shriveling up and some of my shrubs are wilting. Looks pretty hot too! 🥵

Re: September 2024

Getting a little shower with more coming (unless it dissipates). Nice sendoff before the next mini-drought.

Re: September 2024

Yeah, I knew the 70% chances of rain for tomorrow that had been advertised for a week over here would eventually get yanked. Par for the course. Time to run the sprinklers, again…

Upgraded to Hurricane Francine at 7pm.

By the way, the dew point up here rose from 60 degrees up to 75 from 6am to noon today.

Re: Tropical Storm Francine

I would not expect any significant shifts in the track going forward. Bad scenario for Louisiana. Only thing holding this one back right now is some dry air entrainment. I’m not expecting much up here other than some outer bands and some breezy winds as it brushes by to the east.

Re: Tropical Storm Francine

MLC is trekking westward on Brownsville radar.

It’s just crazy that a storm that far south and west, this early in September, is forecast to make landfall east over in Louisiana.

Re: Invest 91L

I needed some more this week after barely topping an inch from almost two weeks of “wet” weather. Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

Re: September 2024

Meanwhile, I’m still sitting at 0.80 inches of rain in my backyard for the past 2 weeks. Yes that’s right, I haven’t accumulated one inch of rain throughout this entire “wet” stretch for the past two weeks. I had the same observation and was going to post the exact same thing. I've have some partin...

Just a friendly reminder, this was the WPC from one week ago for 7 days, ending this morning. Nowhere near 4” up here.

Re: September 2024

No mention in that discussion of the disturbance that was supposed to move down from the northwest and boost rain chances back up to 80% for Wed and Thu this week. That’s apparently off the table now too.

Re: September 2024

So rain chances have been lowered again today to 40%

This keeps happening. They’ll advertise 70, 80, 90% chance of rain and then the day of, they lower it to 40 or 50%

I keep waiting. Nothing but sprinkles since Thursday. The grass under the shade is curled-up dry again, too.
