Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Cpv17 no kidding. about the Euro, by the time hanna was a hurricane, the euro still thought it was a depression LOL! But thats what i am concerned about this season, with it being potentially extremely active, globals models whiffing on development is something i am at least somewhat concerned about

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Cpv17 you never know, it helps that the MJO will give a favorable boost for development in the region, I think the GEFS is a little too aggressive, but i also think the EPS is under doing it as well,

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Even though it means nothing, thats the ideal scenario id love to see in the summer for us, weak tropical storm on the 18z GFS making landfall along the middle texas coast, again it means nothing, but thats exactly what i would love to see in the summer, nothing strong, but organized enough to bring...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Cpv17 Personally I think the GFS is better with seeing development, and the euro is better with 500 mb height pattern and potential paths that a storm may take, at least thats how it feels like its been the last few seasons with these two models

Re: June 2024
Don yeah, even though it is june, with gulf waters already where they are supposed to be in august, Its definitely worth watching, at the very least it should bring back rain chances It appears models are trying to bring a deep plume of moisture/ energy up from the NW caribbean/ Yucatan peninsula in...

Re: May 2024
From what im seeing this very active pattern looks to continue well into the 2nd week of june at the very least, the heat ridge remains anchored over the NW US, which will continue to leave the door open for weak fronts to move in and any disturbances imbedded in the NW flow will continue to swing i...

Re: May 2024
Overall I can’t complain about the 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks from NOAA, heat ridge remains centered over the western to NW US, still favored normal to above normal precipitation across the state through the next few weeks, Euro even a little bullish on a very late season cold front making it all th...

Re: May 2024
Interesting to see that i made a comment a few weeks ago saying how i believed the death ridge would set up shop more over the western US than directly over us for the summer, and that is what is reflected in the NOAA outlook at least for the next few weeks , thats why im optimistic we will have mor...

Re: May 2024
It will, i dont expect month long stretches of intense heat, I think we will see more frequent opportunities for daily sea breeze thunderstorm chances, but i also think we have a much higher normal chance of being impacted by a tropical system this summer
