Why?

Check the 18Z GFS run, i'm not saying SE Texas will get a big bad storm, but we could see some rain if it's right.

Heh, and here I was about to put to bed any hopes of Ernesto providing us with welcomed rains. HPC offers a little encouragement this morning! THE STORM CONTINUES TO MOVE SWIFTLY TOWARD THE WEST...AT A FORWARD SPEED OF AT LEAST 20 KT. GLOBAL MODELS INDICATE THAT THE MID-LEVEL RIDGE TO THE NORTH OF ...

Avila said in the 11am disco that the track is heavily biased to the global models which are trending more south.

Yes he was totally thus I had to post. Find it interesting that for once he is on the side of the NHC. Of course I hope he is completely wrong. Usually way over hypes tropical event. He is however very good with long range pattern recognitions. You're right Joe is rarely in line with the NHC,and on...

Re: Tropical Storm Debby. Watches Issued For Louisiana

This is what Joe B posted on Twitter. He agrees with the NHC path and hope he is wrong with the intensity being a CAT2/3 at landfall between Corpus Christi and Matagorda Bay. The Upper TX Coast would get significant effects should this materialize. https://p.twimg.com/AwGwdzSCEAI8VTe.jpg Was'nt he ...

Re: Ready For Debby?? Invest 96L

The NHC seem to be extremely convinced that this will be a depression or a tropical storm in the near future. This raises the stakes for residents along the gulf coast.

Guess HGX is now leaning towards the ECMWF... MONSTROUS RIDGING ENVELOPES THE U.S. PLAINS NEXT WEEKEND THAT WILL NOT ONLY SHUNT/SUPPRESS ANY TROPICAL ACTIVITY FURTHER SOUTH BUT ALSO SHUT DOWN ANY PRECIPITATION.
