Re: JANUARY 2018 - Winter Storm Warning/Advisory For Tuesday

Correction: it's like a thunderstorm of sleet without the thunder. It's sleeting *hard* here in Spring.

Re: JANUARY 2018 - Winter Storm Warning/Advisory For Tuesday

It's sleeting fairly hard here in Spring near 2920. It's also starting to collect and stick on my front patio pavers where it hasn't before.

Re: August 2017: Harvey/Catastrophic Flood/Recovery

It appears to be an wave of lower pressure with its origin from moisture and a bit of mid level spin associated with an area of disturbed weather along the Western Coast of Mexico in the EPAC that attempts to organize along the Mexico Gulf Coast near Tampico along the tail end of the trough left be...

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

It looks like models are backing off from showing the storm loop back to Houston. Every run shows the storm staying farther and farther west. I suspect that will spare Houston the 30+ inches of rain. I'm thinking more like widespread 10-15. Models may be showing a lesser threat for Harvey inching o...

Re: JUNE 2016 - Heavy Rainfall/Flooding Possible Into Weeken

I've been studying surface observations, radar, satellite and especially the water vapor loop, and I notice three key features to watch this evening and overnight: 1) At the surface, we have cooler E and SE winds, mostly south and east of US 59. To the west and southwest, the air has been heated - ...

Re: JUNE 2016 - More Heavy Rain Possible Mid Week

"* HEAVY RAINS WILL BE DEVELOPING TODAY WITH SLOW MOVING STORMS.
RAINFALL RATES OF 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE BUT
THE STORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED SLOW DOWN AND CLUSTER UP."

Are you sure this paragraph is correct (syntax nothwithstanding)?

Re: May 2016: Calmer Memorial Day Holiday WX

:) You are one fantastic Admin Srain, I and I appreciate everything you and the forum's crack team of Mets do for us. I know forecasting Texas weather is in no way an exact science. We'd just appreciate a heads up as early as you can give us. Many parents were advised way, way after the fact and tha...

Re: May 2016: Calmer Memorial Day Holiday WX

I am a teacher at a school in Klein ISD that was flooded in yesterday afternoon\last night. Over 200 students were flooded out of their subdivisions and buses just turned around and brought students back. Shortly thereafter, we couldn't even got out of our school. Students finally left at 8:00 p.m. ...
