Re: August Weather Discussion

Getting very heavy rain and lots of lightning and thunder with this .... but the winds were nothing like they were yesterday. We've had some power flickers too.

Re: August Weather Discussion

Numerous trees down in our neighborhood Settlers Way and Hwy 6. During the height of the storm I estimate winds gusts to 65 mph and we had quarter sized hail. Power just came back online 20 minutes ago .... That was one wicked storm. Visibility was cut to zero at the height of this storm as well.

Re: TD 5 Gulf Of Mexico

Gene certainly seemed concerned about it on the 6PM newscast tonight. We'll have to see how this evolves. Like Dr. Frank always says never write it off til it's well inland and dissipated.

Re: Invest 94L SE Gulf Of Mexico

I think TD 5's track by the NHC is right on. I do not see this track moving westward over time. As always with tropical systems it's always a good idea to keep an eye on it until it is well inland and dissipated.

Re: July Weather Discussion

I was on Lake Conroe last evening/night ....that was one awesome light show those storms put on. Only got sprinkles where I was at but the outflow created some nice cool winds. It was refreshing and awesome.

Re: July Weather Discussion

Looks like we may be getting into a training situation for this afternoon again in Brazoria, Matagorda, Ft. Bend, Wharton, and eventually into S/SW/NW Harris County including parts of the Houston Metro west of Downtown ... just based on radar trends .... doesn't look too good. Would not be surprised...

Alex has certainly slowed down,,,,,, looks like more of a slow WNW component as well but crawling.

could be a wobble though

Re: TS Alex. 270 Miles ESE of La Pesca. 70 MPH/981 MB

I do believe it'll hit to the left of the current track. Would not be surprised at all to see the track shifted south in the next advisory at 4. For us here in SE Texas rainfall is going to be a big issue due to the influence Alex has over a large area.
