Getting snow flurries here in the Heights now also

Moderate snow now and just saw lightening and a clap of thunder. Thunder sounded really weird.

SNOW! Finally changing over to snow now for me in the Heights

Heavy sleet in the Heights now. Can’t believe it’s 20 degrees and still just sleet. Beginning to lose hope for seeing any snow. Only about 2 hours left the way radar looks, and there are a few dry slots in there too.

Question — is it normal for snow to accumulate on brick and rooftops but not on grass? Always thought grass was among first surfaces to be coated. No, that means you’re seeing sleet. If it was snow, it would be uniformly covering the grassy surfaces. I think some people in here are thinking they’re...

Moderate sleet and rain mixture now in the Heights near I-10 and Yale. Ice glaze covering tree branches and metal gate.

Haha. They did remove it! Weird though, that that lowered the temps a few degrees, and removed snow showers and replaced it with only showers. I wonder if it’s something they’re on the fence about.

I’m from SE Louisiana originally. I just checked the NWS forecast for there and was shocked to see they mention a chance for snow showers on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!

I remember last Halloween very well also. It was very chilly. Definitely not in the mid 60’s. Local news even talked about how it was one of the coldest Houston Halloweens on record. If you go to Accuweather, you can search back to 2019, and Houston had a high of 55 and low of 39 on 10/31/19.
