Re: August 2022
Good downpour today in Ft. Bend. No gauge, so don't know how much rain fell. But more and more rain is really greening things up — a more verdant look with luxuriant green grass, foliage amongst a deep blue skie ... rather than the hazy "Rio Grande brushland" look with fazed out skies and browner la...

Re: August 2022
These forcasters are all over the place, though. NWS discussion implies the inverted trough already moved in west, hence their references to high rain chances west of I-45/inland areas that missed out yesterday. But look at the radar, and still loads of coverage in the Golden Triangle, Lake Charles ...

Re: August 2022
The rain coverage last week helped alot, especially here in Ft. Bend county. Deeper green grass, trees, etc and other signs of verdance coming in full force, rather than looking like a Rio Grande brush land as earlier in June/first half July.

Re: August 2022
Once again, the highest totals for the Houston viewing area today were in Galveston and surrounding Bay regions. Not sure how much Inner Loop Houston got, but Hobby picked up ~.30 inches of rain.
Perhaps better chances in the weekend for more areas as the trough moves in farther west.

Re: August 2022
So far this summer, Galveston + surrounding areas of the bay have been big winners. In fact, Galveston is the only first order site that has been close to average this summer for rainfall (i.e. even was slightly above its average for July). So far, the radar looks good. Lets see if inner Houston and...

Re: August 2022
The vast bulk of the Eastern US even down the the inland Southeast areas (i.e. like Starksville), or even the Gulf Coast, simply happens to get help from midlatitude streams. Even if not a full blown front, then at least the disturbances/shortwaves/etc that trigger mesocale precip events (i.e. simil...
