I will when I can. Gotta work where the jobs are at though, and being a chemist in Houston dictates a lot.

Re: October 2016- More Cool Weather?

Looks like it may be time to consider moving. I've gotten to where I completely hate everything about the weather in Houston these days. 6 months of summer, 1-2 weeks of fall, 2-3 weeks of winter, and then a short spring isn't very exciting.

Im betting on no freeze this year again. I sure hope we dont have another Christmas in the 80s with near 100% humidity though.

Re: Where is the cooler weather and rain?

Well, at least some cooler stuff filtered in last night so that takes care of that piece. Hopefully some rain comes through this week. The yard sure could use it.

Re: October 2016- More Cool Weather?

Honestly, I don't mind prolonged dryness from the October-April period; in fact, I wouldn't complain if Dec-Feb all were desert dry, with nothing but sunshine. As long as the summer/warm season is wet, the rest of the year doesn't matter. Badly need some rain though, especially as folks try to get ...

Lots of (ignorant) people saying mets cried wolf on this. The worst stuff is on the NE side like always and is offshore. The carolinas arent gonna be so lucky tonight.

Re: Tracking the Tropics: Hurricane Matthew

This loop that the models are predicting 4-5 days out has my eyebrow raised. Is there any chance this hits Florida a 2nd time and plows on through into the gulf?

I mean, what the heck is up with this model track? Miami is in for double trouble

Re: September 2016 -Dry & Warm Weather Continues

Not I. I was born in the Houston area and my choice of profession (chemistry) makes it very difficult to move elsewhere. As I've gotten older I've found that I have way less tolerance for the heat we get here for 6 months of the year and the hellish temps of summer. Im lucky to get pleasant weather ...

Re: September 2016 -Dry & Warm Weather Continues

I hope forecasters are wrong about this winter. They are saying it is supposed to be very cold (up north) but that it is looking like most of it wont make it down this way. Not looking forward to another 85 degree soup bowl christmas again.

Re: September 2016 - Watching the Tropics, etc.

All the same, it at least puts it on my radar (pardon the pun) to keep an eye on the gulf next week just in case some mischief gets going.

Re: Tracking the Tropics: Hurricane Gaston, TD #8 & TD #9

To me it does not look like the trough will dig south and west enough in a short enough time to steer as strongly as the models are suggesting. Any chance that all of the models bust on this one and the storm goes much further west? Too tough to say yet?

Re: Tracking the Tropics: TS Gaston & INVEST 99L

Just wait until one of the "Doom & Gloom" models bullseyes Houston at the 5 day window. Its going to be a worrisome few days as we head into the weekend if this spins up into anything.

Re: August 2016: Significant Pattern Change/Rain Chances Ret

I just hope northern Brazoria county gets some much needed rain. We have had less than a quarter inch at my house since June.
