Re: December Weather Discussion. Model Madness & Looking Ahe

Re: December Weather Discussion. Model Madness & Looking Ahe

Good morning everyone! Well hopefully models will start coming together on a wintry surprise for us some time next week! :) On a side note: I see that the majority of the members on this board come here to find out what what is going on in the weather world and are not models readers or don't know t...

Re: November Weather Discussion. Rollercoaster Pattern.

Man alive was it a cold hunt this morning! I pulled up to my ranch gate in Madison County at 5:30 and my truck read 22 freakin degrees! I had my little buddy propane heater in my stand with me and it just wasn't quite enough to take the edge off. I loved it! :D

Re: November Weather Discussion. Thanksgiving Arctic Intrusi

It pushed through my area about 45 minutes or so before dark and the wind is really whipping now. It was 79 before the front hit and now the temp is waffling back and forth between 47 and 48 degrees. Not too bad. I have spent the past hour outside fixing blown fuses but I was happy instead of cussin...

Re: November Weather Discussion. Thanksgiving Arctic Intrusi

A quick side note. Once we drop into the 40's by Thursday evening, I don't see us hitting the 50 degree mark on Friday under cold air advection and solid cloud cover. If we wake up to 42 degrees Friday morning with these conditions, temperatures will not stray much at all from the low temperature we...

Re: November Weather Discussion. Thanksgiving Arctic Intrusi

Oh shoot, my commment was tongue in cheek wxman...nothing more, nothing less. I sure do appreciate the detailed analysis. I actually like the idea of the cold front hitting around 11 am or so on Thanksgiving Day in my parts. It doesn't get any better than a good cold blasting through our neighborhoo...

Re: November Weather Discussion. Looking Toward Thanksgiving

It's not that the NWS has a hard time forecasting shallow arctic airmasses, it's that the models have a hard time forecasting them. The so called mets who write up the AFD's are just relaying what they see in the models....and they live and breathe by the models IMO.

Re: Strong Cold Front #2

What would hunting season, halloween and the holidays be without cool weather? I actually like this set up for the fall and early winter. Cool/cold for the holiday season and then the blow torch is put on after the new year. Like I have said for many of years, after deer hunting season and the holid...

Texas Coastline is Safe This Season

Time to throw in the towel boys and girls....thankfully! We made it through a pretty active season with no threats at all. IMO, I am very confident that the Texas coastline will not see a landfalling hurricane the rest of the season. It's time put our attention on things related to squall lines and ...

Yes he did say that Scott and he said it was just a guess with no scientific backing. Big deal, move on, so be it. Whooptie do da day.

Interesting Euro run but I still believe the east coast troughiness (love that word) will weaken in future model runs as the days push forward.

Re: 95L Eastern Caribbean Sea

Good call srain. ;) Here is my call, which I'm aloud to do since no one listens to me anyways....after blinding myself with models all morning, reading forecasts for other mets, going off of climo etc, I don't see this one going into Florida. If this system is able to stay away from CA and make it i...

Re: General Tropical Discussion Thread

Ah Jamaica Beach! I caught me a nice limit of specks in the surf at 16 mile rd. just last week. Gotta love it when the surf goes flat and the water cleans up! Still plenty of signs of Ike along that stretch of beach if you look close enough. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs387.snc4/450...
