I've had about an inch of rain in about an hour both yesterday and today.

I've lived here most of my life, so I'm pretty used to random summer afternoon downpours, but the lack of thunder is confusing me.

So does a disturbance like the one going into south Texas do anything to sort of churn the Gulf energy and lessen the chances of a major storm, at least in the short term?

It was actually finally my day under the cloud.
Got a little over an inch in about 45 minutes, most of that was in about 20 minutes.

Something about 249 between the Beltway and 99 that makes the rain miss me on both sides.

It's been a while since I've been this happy about .02 inches of rain.

Is it kind of unusual for a hurricane to make that forecast hard right from that far into the Caribean?

Maybe I've just never noticed it before with other storm, but TS Bill still has some pretty good rotation way up there in the middle of the country. Almost looks better organized than it did in the Gulf.

Has Bill actually even made landfall yet?

So is there any possibility of a drying trend in the semi-near future? Not sure I can teach my tomatoes to swim. May have to convert from raised beds to hydroponic gardening.

I got a rock

The last few rains have managed to just miss the palatial BiffB estate here on the far northwest part of the county.

I've got clean clothes on the line and a new bbq pit project to build, so count on some rain the next few evenings.

Had a few minutes of decent wind and rain so far, but now it's that creepy humid stillne...

Same. My thermometer says 30.

I imagine after the last two ice events not really panning out, they will wait til the last minute to call for closures this time.
