Re: January 2019 - Late Week Rainfall/Cooler Weather

I'm at a private weather company here in the Houston area. I actually work with wxman57. Out deepest condolences lol is he not buying the cold yet or is he still on his hellish summer kick He posts on storm2k. I rarely see him post on here, but he’s been on the cold train ever since around Christma...

Re: January 2019 - Late Week Rainfall/Cooler Weather

There is good agreement in the latest long-range models and ensembles that our much anticipated pattern change will be arriving over the next few weeks. Canada will likely get cold in the 6-10 day frame, with potential cross polar flow bringing the cold air down into the U.S. and eventually Texas a...

Re: AUGUST 2018 - 'Cooler' & 'Wetter' Pattern Returns

I agree with Steve, as the long range models are in decent agreement that a cooler and wetter weather pattern will be returning as we end July and head into August. The ridge looks to remain west and north of TX, possibly leading to unsettled conditions. Bring on the rain and cooler temperatures!

Re: November 2014: Severe Storms Possible This Weekend

The 12Z Texas Tech 4km WRF continues to advertise a rather potent MCS developing near Victoria and heading NE across Metro Houston into the Piney Woods of E Texas into Louisiana. Remember this is a cold core upper low with a lot of dynamics that generally cannot be accurately predicted beyond 6 to ...

Re: June 2014: WET & WILD OR HIGH & DRY?

Beneficial heavy rain has fallen across much of Texas throughout the past 30 days. Some places have received over 10 inches since the middle of May! I'm very thankful for all of the rain we've gotten and hope the wet weather pattern continues. http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/3802/z93h.jpg Uploade...

Re: March: Slight Risk Severe Storms Friday. Nice Weekend

Here in College Station it's very warm and humid, with plenty of sunshine helping to destabilize the atmosphere even more. Should be an interesting late afternoon around here!

I know everyone is focused on the potential event that is at our doorstep, but we are near the end of January and a new month is just ahead. The teleconnection indices as well as the various Global operational and ensemble guidance is suggesting a very active early February with additional wintry p...

You think College Station could possibly get up to an inch of snow tonight Andrew? too early to tell what will happen. Also we need to check what the kcll sounding at 6z says Can you ple...
