Re: June 2025
Fun fact the #1 county in Texas for severe thunderstorm warnings is Pecos County where Ft Stockton is located. Due to a semi permanent supercell that develops frequently in the Spring from the topography of the region. This supercell sometimes goes by the name “Old Faithful”.

Re: June 2025
Harris County is the severe thunderstorm “capital” of SE Texas. It is a favored spot for frontal and mesoscale boundaries to setup.I think Galveston Bay and the heat island plays a role…

Re: June 2025
The severe weather train continues here. There's been so many watches and warnings since April (44 severe thunderstorm warnings so far this year in the county). Had hurricane force winds a couple of days ago from a supercell. And there may be a Derecho tomorrow up here. SPC mentions winds could gust...

Re: May 2025
I think the next MCS will hold up better for yall than the one today did. It will be "younger" when it moves into SE Texas as it's developing further south in the state compared to the last several MCS's.

Re: May 2025
It's been very busy here. Wichita County has already received 35 severe thunderstorm warnings this year. Looking at some data the county usually gets between 40-60 severe thunderstorm warnings a year! And the stormy pattern looks to continue this weekend and next week!

Yep the stubborn Gulf ridging is really hurting yalls chances of getting rain down there. Things still look very stormy here starting late this week and possibly through the end of May.

Re: May 2025
The pattern is looking very interesting up here during the 2nd half of May. Still aways out but the setup the models are showing could support a few higher end severe weather events in traditional tornado alley. The global models are showing multiple surface lows forming on the Lee side of the Rocki...

You don’t see the 10% hatched tornado risk in SE Texas often… The HRRR is also showing semi discreet supercells north of I-10.
