Re: December 2022
These showers have some pretty heavy rain in them. Yes - we have a heavy line of showers moving through now. Lower dewpoints and more seasonable temps behind it. Forecasted high tomorrow is about 8 degrees F higher than the average, and the low is about 18 degrees higher than normal. Not exactly se...

Re: December 2022
Absolutely disgusting weather. NWS has the city hitting 80F today, 79 on New Years, and 78 on Jan. 2. I’ve lived here for 45 years, and there is absolutely nothing normal about us being in the 80s/near 80 for so many days in December and into January. Not saying it’s never happened, but it’s definit...

Re: December 2022
Thank you. At least in the city of Houston, we’ll be well above seasonal temps, with at least four days reaching 74-75 F, which is 10+ degrees warmer than the average high this time of year.

Re: December 2022
ERCOT made an emergency request yesterday regarding our power situation, a request that ERCOT says “it does not take lightly.” There is unfinished business with regard to the reliability of our grid, but if we can make it through this winter the Public Utilities Commission and Texas Legislature are ...

Re: December 2022
00z GEFS guidance, that is pretty decent support, not all members agree the frontal passage may be dry, especially for our area, about 7-9 members have snow in our area Seems kind of messed up. Really wouldn’t expect freezing rain in Houston as depicted in those maps with forecasted temps in the 20...

Re: December 2022
Models don’t pick up on winter weather events down here till we get into range of the Hi-res models. Never seen a global model pick up on a winter weather event for us at this range and show it consistently all the way up to the event. If something is there the Hi-res models should start to pick up...

Re: December 2022
The models have come and go with snow. Given we’re still about a week out I’m certainly expecting more changes back and forth over the coming days.

Nice to see 57 mentioning the possibility of a shortwave and snow in Houston on Christmas Eve.
