Re: June- A New Hope? (probably not)

Nothing firing up yet here in Kingwood. Yesterday at this time I had a descent amount of cumulus starting... will wait and see. Don't think it's going to be as active as yesterday- hope I'm wrong.

Re: May Weather Discussions. Drougnt Continues For Houston

Wow, huge amount of lightning to my north, I'm in Kingwood. However, looking at the radar, might be a pretty strong cap directly over Houston as the storms are dissipating as they approach.

Heard thunder in the distance for about five minutes at about 1:35 here in Kingwood, although nothing on radar. Looks like clouds are trying to break through the cap.

Weather Stations

I've been interested in a home weather station since I moved to Houston in 2006. Unfortunately it's just been one of those things that gets put on the back burner. Fast forward to these recent past two winter weather events... I keep hearing the word weatherbug. I google searched and found nothing d...

Re: February 5-11-11 Winter Weather Advisories Issued

Just got a report back from a friend on 45 north headed to Dallas. He is just south of Ennis, west of Waco on the 45. Multiple accidents, numerous cars of the side of the road in ditches, one reported fatality. Looks like a suburban that rolled several times and the driver was ejected. The highway i...

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

Looking at the radar, there is a distinct line just west of Austin, S/A. Once that passes is that all she wrote or will the low still pull moisture up underneath and along the coast?

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

I checked the WV loop also, the dry air from our west is encroaching on the area. Where exactly should be watching for devloping snow to our west? It's hard to beleive moisture, let alone snow is on the way looking at that massive swath of dry air encompassing much of central/west texas. just curio...
