Re: October 2021

Looks like the warning for Montgomery was cancelled. It didn’t really look like a tornado signature to me. More like straight line winds but with the trajectory towards the radar beam you get the red and green line on doppler. Transitory. It’s just wind. A pretty normal signature for quick spin ups...

They had the same outlook last year and look what happebd with the freeze..
And much of last winter, as a whole, was milder than average. These maps indicate the chance of various averaged temperature anomalies. One week if cold doesn’t mean the entire winter was.

Re: October 2021

Ah gotcha weatherguy425, but I still think this is a little too much warm biased , i watch trsuted meteorologists on youtube like POW ponder and hes calling for the exact opposite( at least at December and beyond) conditions that this outlook lis showing And La Nina is only one factor, true. But, b...

Re: October 2021

The weather channel is a joke, this is quite possibly the worst winter forecast put together🤣🤣😂 That may be presented by the weather channel, but the forecast data is from NOAA, the Climate Prediction Center. Last December and January were WARMER than normal at KIAH. One cold blast doesn’t make the...

Re: October 2021

By definition, there is no such thing as a “cool” front. That is why many Mets will opt for “cold front” verses “cool front”. “Cool” front is more conversational and true-to-weather, but technically incorrect. 😉 Yeah but that’s technical terms for all the big grammatically correct nerds out there. ...

No worries of restrengthening. Flooding threat continues for extreme southeast Texas (gradually shifting east) and Louisiana.

Re: September 2021: Hurricane Nicholas

This is neither here, nor there, but quite a few folks were diminishing the risk. It is always easy to Monday morning quarter-back and I'm not even one who was diminishing. ;) lol, this isn't being an arm chair quarterback. Yesterday the NHC came out with a good wind forecast for the Houston ...

Re: September 2021: TS Nicholas NW Gulf Threat

A bunch of my coworkers in SE Harris county have lost power. Winds are very impressive for this system. It’s crazy. I didn’t think they’d be this impressive. That was something I was concerned about once the flooding risk (for Houston) diminished. A bunch of the models was showing wind gusts up to ...
