Re: September 2022

Seeing some signs in the long range that aren’t very good. Hope we can all get some decent rains the next few days. Me too. I’m up to a whopping 0.03” on ‘flood day’ Yeah I wish I could just go ahead and move already. I don’t think at Day 1 ‘Slight Risk’ of excessive rainfall qualifies as “everyone...

Re: August 2022

Re: Gulf Low The UKMET is also hinting at the possibility of an area of low pressure detaching from the stalled front and heading northwest or westward. Just something to casually watch. I just looked at the 12z Euro. It looks like it has a lot of vorticity headed this way by the weekend. ECMWF/GFS...

Re: August 2022

Something to casually watch this workweek - Some models (various NAM runs  I know, ICON, etc.) have been vaguely hinting at an area of low pressure spinning up in the northeast Gulf and detaching from a stalling front along the Gulf Coast within the next five days. Worth a very casual watch to ...

Re: June 2022

Cpv17 00z HRRR is not our friend either , focuses the heavier rains toward beaumont and most of SE Texas except for coastal communities get shafted Yeah that sounds about right. One thing to keep in mind... the remnant LLC will continue to push into Texas in the days post "landfall". It'll also con...

Re: October 2021

Looks like the warning for Montgomery was cancelled. It didn’t really look like a tornado signature to me. More like straight line winds but with the trajectory towards the radar beam you get the red and green line on doppler. Transitory. It’s just wind. A pretty normal signature for quick spin ups...

They had the same outlook last year and look what happebd with the freeze..
And much of last winter, as a whole, was milder than average. These maps indicate the chance of various averaged temperature anomalies. One week if cold doesn’t mean the entire winter was.

Re: October 2021

Ah gotcha weatherguy425, but I still think this is a little too much warm biased , i watch trsuted meteorologists on youtube like POW ponder and hes calling for the exact opposite( at least at December and beyond) conditions that this outlook lis showing And La Nina is only one factor, true. But, b...

Re: October 2021

The weather channel is a joke, this is quite possibly the worst winter forecast put together🤣🤣😂 That may be presented by the weather channel, but the forecast data is from NOAA, the Climate Prediction Center. Last December and January were WARMER than normal at KIAH. One cold blast doesn’t make the...

Re: October 2021

By definition, there is no such thing as a “cool” front. That is why many Mets will opt for “cold front” verses “cool front”. “Cool” front is more conversational and true-to-weather, but technically incorrect. 😉 Yeah but that’s technical terms for all the big grammatically correct nerds out there. ...
