Re: July 2024

, I still think models are largely underestimating rainfall potential across se texas with the front becoming stationary , will need to watch flooding potential heading forwards, this is the kind of pattern that could bring that for sure I would not be surprised. Stalled cold front regardless of se...

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Since everyone is still dealing with the aftermath of Beryl in some form or fashion, this storm is still fresh on everyone’s mind. Now I simply ask everyone affected by this storm to close their eyes for a moment and imagine if 150mph Category 4 Hurricane Laura had struck our region head on like Hu...

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Hurricane Beryl packed a punch for a Category 1 hurricane. To say the least. Lost power here around 4am. Drive around the neighborhood and the tree damage is incredible. I had a massive Bur Oak lose a good 1/3 of its limbs and some fence sections down. Others weren’t as lucky. I saw 7-8 houses with...

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Yea I have to imagine there is going to be a lot of damage comparable to a Cat 2 for areas along and east of the eye. Friend had a gust of 104 in the Rosharon area.

I’m about to experience the eastern edge of it.

Can’t really answer that, but depending on where you are, you could see some hurricane force wind gusts.

Shocked Ft Bend County isn’t in a Hurricane warning yet. I have to imagine it is going to get updated anytime now.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

Hate this east shift. Went from getting 10+” to maybe getting 5” and less wind now too. Now Fort Bend County is going to get what I was supposed to get. Oh well, maybe I’ll get the chance to experience the eye of it and less of a cleanup afterwards. I’d prefer it to keep tracking east in all honest...

I would say dry air and DMIN.
Yep, that’s the big question mark now. Why happens overnight and tomorrow

Dry air is certainly a factor right now. Could be a saving grace from anything major.

Re: Hurricane Beryl

It could be interesting tomorrow. Still think it will be hard for Beryl to really get going (fingers crossed). But it’s the GoM and we’ve seen it before. Cat 1 maybe low end 2 seems plausible now, but always expect and prepare for much worse. It will be interesting to see the track updates and if th...

Re: Hurricane Beryl

I’ve never really experienced a hurricane before so I wouldn’t mind experiencing a cat 1 or 2. The closest I’ve came to experiencing one was Claudette in 2003 and Tropical Storm Frances in 1998. Well, I have been through four, Alicia, Fran, Rita and Ike. They are not fun. Just my opinion. Great to ...
