Re: 93L Central Caribbean

I really expected 92l to do what 93l is apparantly going to do. Next week promises to be very telling with this system. I really hope this stays away from the oil spill.

Re: INVEST 92L

Judging from the FSU tropical model site, the last GFDL run on 92L was the 18th 0Z. No sense running that on an open wave facing 20 to 30 knots of shear. The GFDL loses systems not ready to develop. Yeah it was a bit confusing when they both stopped running 92l early on the 18th. Didn't know if may...

Re: INVEST 92L

Heh. The 12z GFS stalls 92L over our area and opens the floodgates. Thankfully, this is still a week away. The 12z Euro is way south into Mexico. The only thing this does is reaffirm my prediction that this is either a Mexico or Texas threat. This thing isn't going to threaten the Eastern Gulf with...

Re: INVEST 92L

If this heads for the gulf, intact, I hope it stays away from the northern and eastern parts. They don't need to be pushing that oil inland any quicker.

Re: INVEST 92L

Agreed! If 92l comes in north of Cuba, then folks in LA, and points east would need to pay attention. Otherwise folks from the middle Texas coast, over to LA would need to. As pressures fall in the comings days over the Gulf and the Carribean, and shear begins to ease, we will see an uptick in activ...

Re: General Tropical Discussion Thread

Maybe I'm being overly sensitive here.. Does anyone besides me find the graphic about homeland security to be offensive? We have a serious problem with terrorist across the world, not to mention their attempting to create another 9/11 in this country. Equating a hotdog to that risk is a bit over the...

Re: June Weather Discussion

Okay guys...

I must be missing something. We are under a area flood watch until Thursday night, and the NWS is calling for a good chance of heavy rain through this period. Where exactly do they expect it to come from..Uranus? Or was that Neptune?? Hmm! :)

Re: June Weather Discussion

At the moment, I would say that folks south of I10, and east of H59, can pretty much forget about it. That "out of the woods" feeling could easily slip even further north and west than that. I'm not sure this event was ever meant to be a factor in the weather for most of this area. N.W. co...

Re: June Weather Discussion

We have to take precautions, as it does appear that our area will be under the gun later on. However, I've learned to take these things with a grain of salt after a number of these events have unexpectedly fizzled out before reaching our area. Right now, if I were the NWS, I would go ahead and issue...

Re: June Weather Discussion

The storms are moving n.e., but the area as a whole is slowly sliding eastward. We will just have to watch and wait to see if all of s.e. Texas gets any if this. Currently, it would appear that we will at some point. However, my gut tells me not to hold my breath. At the moment, I'm simply going by ...

Re: What does the first half of June look to be?

Montgomery County actually has a better chance of strong storms than Harris, due to the activity from today. The greatest threat for severe weather tonight is counties south that are still very unstable. Will you see rain, thunder and lightning, and some wind gusts anyway. The answer is yes. I still...

Re: What does the first half of June look to be?

Impact to Harris county and points north are less of a concern now. If you live south of these counties, pay attention to the area forecasts for your county. Also, watch the radar for what looks looks like an area of storms moving out ahead of the main line, or what looks like a bow. See if your cou...
