Re: What does the first half of June look to be?
slight weakening as the leading edge slowly propogates SE'ward....we'll have to see if it can hold together. Maybe I was being too optimistic  It does not appear that will continue as it closes in on the area. We'll see... I'd advise everyone to assume things to be bad. At least one can be pr...

Re: What does the first half of June look to be?
Folks in Harris County, and south, should be on the lookout for some very strong winds as this passes over. Everyone should get their business away from home done by 11 PM. There will be some brief heavy rain for most in the area, but the hail and wind potential for some will be grand.

Re: What does the first half of June look to be?
latest RUC mesoanalysis indicates over 2000 J/KG mixed layer CAPE with virtually no capping in place. MCS strengthened after crossing the I-35 corrider as it interacted with the seabreeze. See no reason to believe this things weakens as mature cold pool interacts with moist (PW >1.8 inches) relativ...

Re: What does the first half of June look to be?
There needs to be a storm watch here in s.e Texas. I'm concerned about hail and wind, but not so much tornadoes.

Sooooo the NHC finally give it a invest tag...guess they waited until I said something ;) notice the low level eddy heading into the Yuc...interesting....caught up in a low shear environment also. If it drifts North at all, its in 30 knot shear, not its friend. But we've gone from low level diverge...

Re: Gulf Oil Spill & Hurricanes
Coutld any of the oil and chemicals come down inland acid rain? Talk about a toxic gumbo, or as I call it, an "oilycane." Hmm! Not likely, though I too thought about the, "what if" that were to happen. You can't lift the oil into the clouds like water, meaning vapor. However, th...

Re: Gulf Oil Spill & Hurricanes
I don't buy that at all. What I do worry about, however, is what happens with all of this mess as a hurricane passes over it and eventually on shore somewhere. Then the whole issue with the chemicals BP is using to breakup the oil, which is highly toxic, by the way, and is banned in the UK. A hurric...

Indeed! Expect much of Harris and Montgomery counties to get hammered tonight.

Re: May Weather Discussion.
It's about to get nasty, folks. Storms and rain are moving in from the north and northwest. Along with that, we are also getting some home grown activity. Be on the lookout for some of this activity to be strong to severe, and everything that can go along with that.

Yes, there is finally hope for Saturday and Sunday for some rainfall.
Like Steve, the ground on my property has begun to crack. It is difficult to get enough water on it.

Interesting, however it is prime time severe weather season for them. I was taken back how, even though a tornado watch was issued for areas just west of Dallas, the cap was just too strong over Texas, keeping severe weather at the Red River northward... To think that DFW has had more rain than we ...

Re: April Weather Discussion. SPC: Slight Risk Friday
Don't you dread hurricane season? I was just watching some Ike videos on YouTube. Man, what a mess. Watching it head this way on radar again was really "eye opening". I always hate it when our Spring is dry. Mother Nature always has her way of shifting things around. Dry Spring could mean ...

Unlike last weekend, I see little hope of this cap breaking down. Now watch it pour down rain. Lol
