Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
There are good points to be had. Any possibility at all, especially for us in Texas bears watching. I agree that no matter how it looks, several possibilities are being thrown around. Watch what happens with the disturbance in the gulf coupled with this next system crossing over into the BOC. If you...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
We can't say 100% where this is going, but we know where it's been. Texas getting tropical mischief so early in season was a clue that something is just not right.. I'll say that any and all are capable of getting the forecasts wrong. It's the nature of the beast. I've seen a lot of mean comments in...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
What a change few weeks make. Everyone is Texas and Louisiana should pay close attention to what transpires in the weather department. There are a handful of possibilities over the next ten days. The outcome is going to be determined by three possible influences. A front, trough, and ridge can take ...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Okay, folks, it's time to gulf watch again..
Several days ago be talked about Louisiana needing to pay attention. There could be a big mess coming for someone along the gulf coast.

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Based on current observations we are looking out at least ten days before anything of substance possibly gets enough snuff to worry about. Ten days, folks. We all know how the models are beyond three. We see what we see now, and anything beyond ten days is pure fantasy. I agree that folks shouldn't ...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Yes. The trough is expected to not be a factor, and the ridge would build back west. Depending on how much it expands we are still speaking about a more poleward turn maybe into Florida or the east coast. These waves coming in on more southern track usually get eaten up by areas well south of Texas....

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Outside of something home grown, it looks like a bunch of fish storms are in order. The current pattern will give way to systems coming out of Africa being pulled off to the north. The change will come, but for now....

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
I totally agree. Long range guarantees are very irresponsible. Without naming any names, at least one popular meteorologist said hands down Beryl was a Mexico problem.. This individual argued the point down to the last couple of days. We see what happened there. I've never ever tried to lock down be...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Cosgrove seems to think lousiana and texas are going to be the hot spots to watch for tropical landfalls once tbings get going in a few weeks Indeed. I agree that he is spot on. It is going to be a nightmare this season for Texas and Louisiana. I just finished cleaning up my yard today. It's like a...

Re: 2024 Hurricane Season Discussion
Folks, hurricane season is obviously on pause, but think not it's done for. Things are about to go full tilt here in about two weeks. The way it is shaping up now the Gulf of Mexico will be trouble central. The west central gulf coast to north central gulf coast should really be paying attention. I ...

Re: Hurricane Beryl
My power is out. There is so much yard debris and damaged crapes. It's a mess. This situation could have been a lot worse for all of us. What a horrible time for me to have no power with all of these health issues.
Walking, talking, breathing. Thank the powers to be.

We will need official confirmation of any easterly component. Many times certain behavior can give an illusion of movement in a particular direction..

Re: Hurricane Beryl
Beryl is determined to survive. Landfall looks to be further up the coast than had earlier been suggested from this morning. That leaves more time to strengthen over excellent conditions. Optimism had turned to pessimism as Beryl could literally climb to major cane status once again. I hope everyone...

Re: Hurricane Beryl
Yes, these things can and do regenerate, depending on conditions, of course. I'm not suggesting that's not the case. Beryl has been through a loop of changes. However, now that is in the gulf we are facing timing issues. The shape that it is in right now, coupled with how much more time will be spen...

Re: Hurricane Beryl
What a difference a few days can make. Heck even just a day. Remember the conversations about Beryl and 95L in the gulf? It's not over.... yet. As of today.. A Tropical Storm could be on tap, but it's in such bad shape right now. Who knows.

Re: Hurricane Beryl
Unless something drastic changes this is Texas system. I still say Corpus to Galveston, but with these shifts it could very well be more like Freeport to Galveston. I highly doubt anything more north than that. This is going to get nasty. Flooding is certainly a component, but not Harvey style.. Wea...

Re: Hurricane Beryl
As expected models are shifting north. We are seeing that landfall then turning north, then north east. Without digging here at 4:30 in the morning I wonder if a stall or slow ride up the coast is still on the table. At any rate, with 96L coming along too, this could get quite messy Mexico appears t...

Re: Hurricane Beryl
Beryl is determined.. You all know you can't kill Gulfzilla. It's coming. Everyone from Corpus to Galveston should really keep up with updates. I see no reason to not suggest a more northward path at landfall, not unless something drastic happens.
