Re: INVEST 93L: Possible Labor Day Gulf Storm!
speaking of wxman57 i want to know what he thinks! 8-) Real busy now, but have a sec. I can see an LLC forming near 26N/90W. That's west of the convection. It's still moving NW. Wind shear is relaxing, so squalls to the east should build westward today. I think it'll be TD 13 either this evening or...

Re: INVEST 93L: Possible Labor Day Gulf Storm!
Forming to far east, time to bust out the sprinklers :x Again, patience Mr BoonDog. Patience. I have learned that over the many years of following weather. From Tropical Storm Delia in 1973 to Hurricane Ike in 2008, I have seen and been through many tropical systems. As far as sprinklers go for my ...

Re: Possible Labor Day Gulf Storm!
Are they starting to see a more eastern trend towards FL? Is TX losing this battle? If it continues trending east, TX will get NOTHING! :( Again, let me state this. First, I am a amateur weather watcher. Remember, be patient. Still too early to say anything about anything. Wxman57 and Jeff both sta...

Re: Labor Day Weekend?
Dear All, The ridge is moving away. The wind changed directions yesterday. Look at the NWS map. See something different. Look closely. Do you see any orange? Nope. I realize we have grown so used to seeing it we thought it was normal. No more heat advisory. Tomorrow will be hot, but changes are comi...

Re: August Weather Discussion
It is dirt in my backyard. I have given up. I mean come on, why? My front yard is gone. Just gone. The sign that the Four Horseman (great song by Metallica, by the way) are here. Our neighbor across the street has built in sprinklers. They water twice a day. The yard is turning brown. Goodbye Summer...

Re: August Weather Discussion
Ok, this is gone from crazy to stupid. I mean, with all of the meteorological knowledge on this board, we are not supposed to say stupid, but dadgum. This is just become dang stupid. No end in sight, it is getting hotter, the "cool front" that is coming will make air hotter without the moi...

Re: Cold Front 2011
Was just looking at the latest extended range going out to September 8th and that high is anchored right over us nearly the entire time. Still no fronts on the horizon. It's encouraging to see weaknesses starting to break down the high to the east a bit. Perhaps one day it'll break it over us. Sigh...

Re: On this date, August 18, 1983
Yep. I was a senior in high school in Santa Fe. We were living in a trailer, so we evacuated to my grandma and aunt's houses in Texas City. I just remember the big Oak outside my aunt's house moving completely, almost at the trunk. The whistling of the wind, being so loud. My first chance to ever se...
