Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Then More Arctic Co
Anyone seen the updated Winter precip graphic on the Hou-Gal NWS homepage? 1-2" snow and sleet all the way to the immediate coast with 1-3" across Houston metro?
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/hgx/ and select the Winter Weather tab. Several forecast images will cycle.

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Then More Arctic Co
If I see snow wonderful, if not no big deal. Would rather see snow than an ice storm.......shades of 1997? Who knows how it will all pan out with Winter precip types. One thing I do know is that Houston will begin to crawl to a hault once precip begins. I fully expect to head out of downtown early t...

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Then More Arctic Co
Just by viewing the visibile satellite I can see clouds thicking over deep South Texas and the adjacent coastal waters. I too believe this will start much earlier than expect and will catch many by surprise. We are getting close to crunch time and expect the NWS to hoisted WSW tonight if not in the ...

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Then More Arctic Co
I hear ya redneckweather. I too have been burned many times by excitement of a Winter weather event that failed to materialize. Cant complain though after the 2004 coastal snow as have said many times. I hope for once we all get a decent snow

Re: February Weather. Severe Threat/Arctic Blast/Then Snow?
Models just indicate possibilites. Could be more or less snow across the Coast or far inland SE TX Verification will occur with the onset of the Winter event. Some areas of SE TX look to recieve a decent snow and to those who are fortunate enough to experience it I hope you enjoy it to the fullest.

Re: February Weather. Severe Threat/Arctic Blast/Then Snow?
I must agree. Many years of being crushed by the models. Back in the mid-80s was the worst. Signifcant accumulations were forecast for the Houston metro with 100% chance.....it was a done deal in my book and would the most signifcant snow in modern time. Guess what.....never materialized. The 2004 C...
