More than likely this will come when they do upgrade to BIll.
All the parameters are there except a well defined center, so just a matter of time.

00z models. At this point its a Texas storm, Corpus to Matagorda most likely.
Tomorrow is the big day as to how the storm organizes, especially since it's entering less shear currently.

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf

Model consensus is tight for the current lack of organization shown by this system. Will be interesting to see how it shifts or perhaps doesn't once the LLC forms after it clears land tomorrow. Tomorrows PM runs will be more telling. Either way, 24 hour board mode starts tomorrow.. gonna be another ...

More of the same it looks like. A rollercoaster with warmer days mixed in between cold fronts.
Nothing crazy on the horizon, but models can't be trusted after 5-7 days. Stay tuned :D

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

WX201, that mid/upper level moisture is associated with that upper low over Mexico. There is a tap of Eastern Pacific moisture that is ejecting E into Texas. Sleet continues here in NW Harris County albeit light at this hour. So question...as that moves East, does it tap any additional Gulf moistur...

Light Rain, Sleet, and micro-flurries mixing in Dickinson. Heavier echos coming over top shortly, hoping for some sleet to dust us a little.

Heller is on point. Good and as accurate summary one can make prior to watching the low begin to move into the area . Still an exciting and highly dynamic event so let's keep our heads up.

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Watch Issued

I'm a stats guy, so it kind of bums me out that the midnight temperature on tuesday may screw us of a high temperature below freezing. The GFS has us in the upper 30s at midnight dropping into the 20s in the afternoon. A low wednesday morning in the teens/low 20s, so a record low is at least possib...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Watch Issued

Stepping on Ptarmigan's toes here but I was looking for snowfall info for Pensacola, since they are record setting territory if models verify and found this nice little article on historical snow systems in the S/SE US. Crazy that this system might join the list of all time greats, especially for AL...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Wintry Michief Early Next W

00z GFS to my untrained eye says we aren't quite ideal enough to support all snow. More sleet and rain than snow. Magic 540 line a bit north than we would like it...still a icy scenario though as we will have similar if not colder temps than this past event. Good news is we now have good consistency...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Wintry Michief Early Next W

So much uncertainty, hard to start thinking of possible amounts and areas affected. All we know at this point is we will have a deeper airmass moving in Monday afternoon with the possibility of overrunning precip Tuesday-Wednesday Morning. Exciting that its only 3-4 days out. Like Jeff said, dry air...

Re: January: Weekend Warmup/Strong Arctic Front Early Next W

30.8 here in Dickinson. Got drizzly mix over night, all surfaces have small icicles. Morning drizzle actually cooled me off after the sun rose, I was dropping steadily until around noon due to evaporative cooling. League City PD weatherbug is reporting 28.3. I don't think I'll break freezing today, ...

Re: January: Arctic Front Thursday & Winter Storm Warning

Question...Im in the Beaumont area and the "pink" ice/sleet line has passed us about an hour ago and now we are dead center of the pink ice/sleet area. Why isn't there frozen precip falling? What determines the pink? Not the best explanation or most accurate, but the reflectivity on radar...
