Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

Moderate snow in San Antonio right now. This is likely a nearly convective band of snow within the coldest air of the upper low that will push across the area later this morning... This will be very interesting to watch. Tyler, you think it will cross over our area down to the coast? How do you thi...

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

You know, when I take another look at that band near San Antonio, its going much more North than East. Chances are slim.

Let us see if that trend continues.
Great trend. Might gather moisture from the gulf and isolift should take effect.
We might have an event. Just might.

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

Seeing a couple blips in central Texas out in front of the low.
Certainly a good sign this early in the night.

Building down the coast too.

Time may give birth to this 'non-event.'

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

2004 remember that?
History tends to repeat it self.
Watch the radar blossom tonight between 8-10pm

or

Another bone chilling bust.
Maybe a passing flurry.
No significant accumulations.

So hard to pick a side.

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

While this is not looking good, we should not give up hope. Tim Heller just brought up a good point regarding a bust, if the radar isn't lighting up between 6-10pm, then the numbers will need to be severely adjusted. I would only think flurries then. So radar watching is what we need to do. Remember...

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

I was originally wanting 4 inches, but I'll be as pleased as a 8 year old girl getting a pony for Christmas with 2 inches. If we get 4" or more, I'll do snow angels in my boxers, get my wife to upload the pix to the computer (she has all the technology skills) and upload it here and on the big...

^ I skimmed that discussion and saw TINY accumulations. Then I then looked up to see it was Brownsville. Sigh of relief.

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

To anyone losing confidence in the event: The models/NWS are following .1''-.5'' of precip from several hundred miles away and attempt to account for current temperature, dew points, upper level conditions, and the magic that is "wet bulb cooling" hours in the future. If you think they can...

Re: February Weather. Arctic Blast/Snow/Ice/Winter Storm Wa

Here's one for some of the more knowledgeable members: Since precip is trending to start during the 'warmest' part of the day tomorrow, would there be an issue regarding p-type? It might very well reach 35 tomorrow, would this hamper accumulations if the event onsets early? Does the event wrap up mu...
