I know with past freezing rain events, trees have fallen onto powerlines causing power outages. They often cause roads to be dangerous to travel. I can even recall thunder during freezing rain. While we were working on prepping the house for the weather, we did see someone drive by with a new generator in the back of the truck. At least some are paying attention.
