Re: November Weather Discussion. Thanksgiving Arctic Intrusi

Extrapolating the current speed, I would expect it to pass CLL by 2:00 PM tomorrow. Unless it does a major slowdown. What I'm also watching closely for is the orientation of the front as it approaches. If it's NE to SW, then a line of showers might pass quickly through with little accumulations. :cr...

Re: June Weather Discussion: Flag Days' weather?

Wow. 8-)

You could be in Siberia today and tell what kind of weather day Houston is having, just by the lack of activity on this board. Pretty nominal and unremarkable.

Re: May Weather Discussion-HELL DROUGHT

............................... HOUSTON HELL DROUGHT 2010 You are really annoying. I just wanted to make that clear... Shooting the messenger... During "Hell Drought 2009" we would've been merciful enough to just shoot the messenger. If this year becomes another Hell Drought, we're gonna ...

Re: February Winter Weather Discussion. Wintry Precip Possible?

Wx-Man-Fifty-Seven is sleeping right now. But he will likely scroll back to all these pro-snow posts when he awakes, and will pile a layer of dooky on anyone hoping for a white wednesday morning. But hasn't tonight been fun without naysayers??? If no Happiness happens, wasn't it fun to frolic in wis...

Re: February Winter Weather Discussion. Wintry Precip Possible?

WSW for HGX CWA? Maybe the counties up around Madisonville and CLL that border NWS FWD, IMHO. Maybe one more row of counies South of existing FWD counties. More likely a WWA. Light snow in the air with mid 30s temps and making grass and streets wet probably doesn't trigger much. Maybe as close as H...

Re: February Winter Weather Discussion. Wintry Precip Possible?

HGX predictions in the morning: They will continue to ignore the trends of wintry precip in SE TX, as the forecaster on duty will be late for his tee time. A three sentence discussion will then be written, and the same absolutely ridiculous forecast of highs in the 50s next week will stick. I would...

Re: February Winter Weather Discussion. Wintry Precip Possible?

Just checked 12Z GFS sounding forecasts for IAH. The model suggests cold rain changing to a mixture of rain and sleet as the precip ends Tuesday night. With that pattern, I couldn't rule out a few snowflakes but I don't see a snow "event" for Houston given the latest data. If a Weather Ex...

Re: Cold weather has arrived with cold rain on the way...

Well, I hate to say it, but I told ya so... Muhahaha We are getting sleet reports all over the area. Thursday night will need to be watched for folks in Montgomery County and points north. There could be a situation worse than just few scattered pellets of ice. Oh well.. So much for no frozen preci...
