Re: March 2024

New AI euro model added to tropical tidbits, first time ive seen that, comes out 4 times a day like the GFS, goes out through 360 hours, it will be interesting to see how this model preforms

Re: March 2024

Folks its clear is day, things are looking really bad for precipitation in march and beyond, I see a lot of dry weather ahead, nothing suggests a return to a wet pattern at least not in the next 3-4 weeks, this could get ugly

Re: February 2024

user:null i unfortunately think the only way we are going to see widespread rain this summer is via the tropics, and thats looking like a very active season potentially, i hate the blast furnace weather, but also hoping this isnt the year that we get slammed by a strong hurricane either

Re: February 2024

So many acres of land being absolutely obliterated by the wild fires, and we arent even close to summer yet, i really cant blame folks for wanting to move away from texas , precipitation is going to be a big problem in the months ahead, not sure how many more summers I can endure here

Re: Long range model discussion

Major SSWE should be taking place this week, think this ones the real deal, the 18z GFS shows the Polar Vortex coming back over to our side of the globe during the first week of march, though its not reflected at the surface yet , I think despite the US might get one more big shot of cold weather be...

Re: March 2024

While march is looking below average temperature wise which is nice, the precipitation outlook is going in the wrong direction, march could be on the dry side

Re: Long range model discussion

Thundersleet couldnt agree more, i don’t care if its 5 degrees below average or 20 below average, anything to delay the awful heat that is happening inevitably coming is highly welcomed!

Re: Long range model discussion

Yep that is correct, but since this one is headed towards march, it wouldnt be as nuts because its march, however you can still get really cold in march if the SSWE impacts our side of the globe

Re: Long range model discussion

sambucol not all the time, a SSWE can also effect other areas of the world such as asia/ europe, so its not a guarantee that it will effect the us or down here, but if you remember back in january when we got really cold, that was due to.a SSWE occurring, but that was a minor SSWE, this one could be...

Re: Long range model discussion

Sambucol yes, the GFS , Euro, and their respective ensembles, although i dont know too much about how to read SSWE’s on guidance,, if you want to have a good read, look up a guy named Judah Cohan on X, he published a free public article talking about this yesterday, very reliable source and has year...
