Re: JUNE 2015 -Tracking Tropical Storm Bill
Latest Corpus Christi and Houston/Galveston radar composite loops suggests TS Bill very slowly moving N over Matagorda Bay. Could it be that Bill is moving north over San Antonio Bay, just west of Matagorda Bay, by the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge? Just asking. Yep, looks like an NNE wobble for...

Re: JUNE 2015 -Tracking Tropical Storm Bill
The blob in the SW Gulf is more impressive than Bill! It's lighting up the water vapor loop too. Have to see if the convection continues to build on the south side of Bill. That would not be good as all that convection will wrap up on "the dirty side" (us) as it moves inland. http://www.s...

Re: JUNE 2015 -Tracking Tropical Storm Bill
I've been stuck at the airport in Chicago for 12 hours now. Trying to fly back to Houston tonight. Hope I can beat Bill to Texas. I'm thinking landfall a little east of Matagorda Bay as a 50-60kt TS . Could be a little less intense. That may mean possible 35-45 mph winds for south Houston with high...

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf
So check this out while we await Recon flight data.. Ironic similarities between this system and Tropical Storm Erin in 2007 which landed near Port Aransas. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_Storm_Erin_%282007%29 "a Hurricane Hunters flight into the system reported a small circulation cent...

Center starting to take shape, but not clear enough to nail down a track. Extrapolation looks like Matagorda all the way.

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf
Are they going to issue Tropical Storm watches/warnings? Easy, grasshopper. Treat this as a rain event, with some wind, and hopefully doesn't stick around very long. They'll need to issue one for a small area of coastline that will experience those conditions if the storm continues to progress as i...

More than likely this will come when they do upgrade to BIll.davidiowx wrote:Are they going to issue Tropical Storm watches/warnings?
All the parameters are there except a well defined center, so just a matter of time.

00z models. At this point its a Texas storm, Corpus to Matagorda most likely.
Tomorrow is the big day as to how the storm organizes, especially since it's entering less shear currently.

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf
Model consensus is tight for the current lack of organization shown by this system. Will be interesting to see how it shifts or perhaps doesn't once the LLC forms after it clears land tomorrow. Tomorrows PM runs will be more telling. Either way, 24 hour board mode starts tomorrow.. gonna be another ...

Re: January -Icy WX N/Light Cold Rain S This Weekend?
More of the same it looks like. A rollercoaster with warmer days mixed in between cold fronts.cisa wrote:Is there anything else worth noting to watch in the next couple of weeks?
Nothing crazy on the horizon, but models can't be trusted after 5-7 days. Stay tuned

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso
WX201, that mid/upper level moisture is associated with that upper low over Mexico. There is a tap of Eastern Pacific moisture that is ejecting E into Texas. Sleet continues here in NW Harris County albeit light at this hour. So question...as that moves East, does it tap any additional Gulf moistur...
