Re: March: Last Shot of Cool Air. Late Week Severe Potential

Just read the AM discussion. This has bust written all over it if u ask me. Might have to actually run the sprinklers to soak in the fertilizer. I will gladly eat a crow buffet if the cap breaks.

Re: March: Last Shot of Cool Air. Late Week Severe Potential

Only had .02" today.

It was a very chilly feeling 59 degrees when I left the office at about 6PM. Was not expecting that.

Re: MCS Potential Houston and Gulf Coast Thursday

OK time to un-hijack the thread.

With all the talk of severe weather (or not) we've lost the original discussion. Are we still looking for an MCS to develop? We need the rain. Don't really care if it hails or not.

Re: MCS Potential Houston and Gulf Coast Thursday

Good. It's been awhile since we had a good old-fashioned MCS rain down upon us.

Re: March: Last Shot of Cool Air. Late Week Severe Potential

Dang, I put down fertilizer yesterday morning expecting at least some rain, and so far not a drop. All the stuff to the s&w is staying south of me so far too.

Re: March: Spring Like Temperatures. Weekend Rain Chances

Just an observation, but it appears there is a new author for the overnight NWS discussions coming out of HGX. The discussions for the last several days read different than they used to. They seem more formal, technical, and verbose, and all the humor is gone. "Sea fog" has been replaced b...

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

Lots of ice here, but it's mostly elevated. It has warmed some as the ice on my bedded plants has mostly melted, but there is more ice up in the trees. It is definitely thicker at the tops of the trees and it looks 'whiter' the higher up you go. Shows just how much a degree or two can make a big dif...

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

Starting to ice over here. When it first started, the water was running down the windshield and the car tops were wet. After that burst of sleet (maybe graupel) it's all freezing-up now. Plants also getting a coat of ice now.

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

Just got this email from CenterPoint: The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is asking all customers to reduce their electric use as cold weather continues to cause a high demand for power across the state. Conservation will be especially important between the hours of 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. t...

Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

I'm down to 34 now after a high of 37. That's not far to go.

And it went down even more to 25 this morning after I left. I can already see the leaf burn on my bird of paradise.

Re: March: Wind Chill Advisory & Wintry Mischief Possible

My backyard thermometer bottomed out at 21 degrees. Not official, but it looks like Bergstrom hit 19 and Camp Mabry 24. I'm pretty sure the 48 hour forecast was about 10 degrees warmer, and the 24 hour had the low around 29. Those few degrees make a big difference in backyard gardening. I guess the...
