Re: September 2023

It feels great in the shade with 50's dew points and 20's humidity currently! Having football on with better weather just feels right!

I like just about any team from Texas except for Tech and I kinda like LSU but A&M, UT, and UH are my fav 3.
Anytime Alabama looses it is a great day, especially against UT!

Re: September 2023

I have seen many regulars come and go on this forum since the late Dan Meador and KHOU ran it and behaviors have changed too. Good times back then for sure! It is to be expected and hopefully what pros we have such as you don't go anywhere!

Re: September 2023

It seems the grumpiness stems from some of the same areas seeing rain multiple times and others not seeing anything. It has rained 3 times this week about 5 or 10 minutes to my east, but no drops at all at my place. It is frustrating!

Re: September 2023

Is radarScope an app for the radar posted Jason? Looking at seeing a better radar than the nws site one since it doesn't show outflow boundaries or the seabreeze front anymore!

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion

May have to end up watching Idalia down the road. Gfs has it stalling off the southeast us and then backtracking to Louisiana if you could believe it! It has it very weak for now.

Re: August 2023

They decluttered all of them to hide the false returns and ground clutter. It does hide faint boundaries though unfortunately.

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion

Not associated with our weather, southern California may get a tropical system before we do this season. They are under a tropical storm watch there!

Re: August 2023

The heat is made worse probably as a result of all of those tropical systems the model has going north along the east coast.

Re: August 2023

Seems like the models keep pushing back any changes further away in the long term. This ridge may be the longest duration of this season and will see what happens later in the month. Both major models precip maps show the usual Texas 'donut hole' continuing for awhile.

Re: July 2023

I read the -pdo is starting to warm up off the west coast which is a result of el nino onset and that fact plus the negative soi should hopefully cause a better pattern for Texas. The gfs long term has been better lately.

Re: July 2023

I counted 3 little tiny seabreeze showers to the southwest of us with a couple more showers to the northeast. A slight positive before this high peaks in a few days around the state.

Re: June 2023

The soi has been negative for the longest time and it hasn't provided much of any relief. I believe the negative pdo has been the wrinch in our heat done weather of late.
