Re: May: Storm Chances Increasing Mid Week.

I know Friday here in Santa Fe we could see and smell the smoke faintly and in my area of the city, we haven't been able too since then. I hope your air quality improves soon!!

Re: December-Tracking The Christmas Winter Storm

The weather for my area wasn't too bad today, just a few winds with no rain to speak of, unfortunatly that is not the case for all. I hope everyone is safe tonight! The winds are still strong here tonight.

Maybe next week we can see some of that "S" word?!?! One could only hope!!

Re: Emergency Preparedness for People with Disabilities

We have talked a lot about what to do before and during a storm. I have thought about this for a couple of days now and did some research and found these links I thought would be helpful AFTER the storm has passed, however some of them can be used before and during as well. If there is a list like t...

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: Downgraded To TS. Inland In LA

I am just asking for a bit of guidance and education here, I was curious if Isaac is moving NW, then he shouldn't get back out into the Gulf, right? I mean seriously Louisiana has had enough!!!!! I know the models are still suggesting a coastal rider, but if he is moving NW, shouldn't get be moving ...

FWIW the NAM has Isaac going to Sabine Pass. I don't know if model runs even matter now, but I thought it was interesting.

Ok I admit I am horrible when it comes to movement of tropical systems, I haven't gotten that down yet, but I take it this is the picture folks are looking and saying it's moving west? I really am just trying to learn here. :D

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

The GFS has done very well this season as we have all seen. If the EURO solution does turn out to be right, that does not mean that the GFS is now all of a sudden garbage. I am not sure why there is bickering about models anyway, with a storm looming on our neighbors.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Isl

This is intertesting: From HGX disco: 10 a.m. ISAAC STILL PROGGED BY TPC TO MAKE LANDFALL OVER SE LOUISIANA. THE 12Z NAM IS TRENDING FURTHER WEST WITH ISAAC AND IT IS LOOKING MORE AND MORE LIKE THE 00Z ECMWF. THERE COULD BE SOME SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE FORECAST PACKAGE THIS AFTN IF THE 12Z GFS S...

That is also what the GFS suggested...if Isaac does do that, what would that do for the weather for our neighbors in High Island, Beaumont, etc?

Will it affect our weather?
