Thank you all for the updates. I agree that we all need to be prepared. I am with the bandwagon of "I am not letting my guard down".

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

Remember folks, this is one model. As Sraintx and Wxman 57 preach, patience. We shall see. Stay tuned. :) True The 0z NAM has the upper low a good bit of distance further east in 24 hours than the 18z run... This really makes all the difference. If the GFS shows the further east solution and thus m...

Re: September Drought Thread (first cold front late month?)

Maybe so Ed! :D I know lots of folks in Texas who would love to see that rain!! I never knew just how low Lake Travis was until today and I am sure there are many more lakes around that are low....it is so depressing! :(

Re: September Drought Thread (first cold front late month?)

I never got any rain today, but I was able to see the clouds, they were beautiful!!!! Maybe we will get lucky and the wave that is currently in the Yucatan can bring us some relief somehow, no name of course, but just some beneficial rain to those of us in Texas who need it....that would be wonderful!

Here in Santa Fe we have been getting light shower off and on today, nothing real heavy though...the breeze did pick up for a little bit earlier and it sure was nice!! I noticed the clouds today and they looked so weird, but in a pretty way if that even makes sense  I sure did appreciate the cl...

There sure doesn't seem to be much rain with this system, or maybe it is because I am not looking at the radar right?

Re: August - Increasing Weekend Rain Chances. Watching The G

Right on cue, a rather impressive Kelvin Wave and MJO pulse are nearing the Western North Atlantic Basin and two wave axis are approaching each other with one heading NW from the NW Caribbean and the second moving W bound across the Central Gulf. Deep tropical convection is associated with the wave...

Re: August - Doldrums of Summer. Watching The Gulf

We need rain so bad but not in the form of a hurricane.
A tropical system is the only weather feature capable of bringing enough moisture and lift this time of year to even come close to re-filling Travis and even that is a stretch.
WOW! That is horrible to imagine :(

Re: August - Doldrums of Summer. Watching The Gulf

I totally agree with you Ed. I hate the thought of anyone flooding, but the rain would be so beneficial!! The central Texas lakes would also like their share. Travis is at 623ft. The record low from 1951 is 618ft. That is so sad to hear!! We need rain so bad but not in the form of a hurricane.
