Re: May Weather Discussions. Drougnt Continues For Houston

Nice call by the SPC with the slight risk across the area.

I don't think the storms will make it here, but at least someone is seeing some rain

Re: February 5-11 Discussion: Winter Weather Advisories N/W

Again, doubt we see much, but to have even the slightest chance of freezing rain in the forecast again is pretty amazing... Today...Cloudy. Rain in the morning...then a chance of rain in the afternoon. A chance of light freezing rain in the afternoon. Breezy...cooler. Highs in the upper 40s. Tempera...

Re: February 5-11 Discussion: Winter Weather Advisories N/W

Winter weather advisory issued for Harris. Freezing rain entered into the grids for Harris County, including Houston

I really doubt we see much freezing drizzle or light freezing rain, if anything, but a curious sight to see I guess.

Re: February 1-5, 2011 Arctic Blast/Winter Storm Discussion

Also, today's high of 31 at IAH was the first time we have seen a sub-freezing high temperature since January 13th, 1997, our last ice storm Today's low max record was 28 in 1989, so we just missed that. But yesterday's high of 34 degrees was a low max record, breaking the previous record of 35 in 1...

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

The accidents and deaths were due to people not expecting the ice problem in the area, and driving too fast. This was not a major event. lol Part of measuring a weather event is its impact on the area. With the most amount of ice related accidents since 1997, I'd say this was a "major" ev...

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

Yes, I am afraid it was a big old bust all the way around. I'm disappointed, but not an emotional wreck about it. When you make up your mind that either way is fine, it makes the let down so much more easy to deal with. I bet folks take next weeks event with a grain of salt. You can bet there will ...

What a week of model watching. Y'all can have next week. I'm heading for the deep hill country Wednesday for 5 days. Man, this was nothing but a sick joke...or should I say slick joke. haha!! With wrecks, power outages, road closing, school closings, and multiple injuries. This is far from a joke. The ...

Just was emailing Ticka and thought of this...for those of you with icing (I guess most of us) go stand outside and listen to your trees. I'm surrounded by pine trees and they are really starting to creak. I've still got "something" falling from the sky but not sure how to categorize it. ...

Re: February Weather. Snow/Sleet/Ice/Winter Storm Warning

Tyler, you think it will cross over our area down to the coast? How do you think it will progess? Stronger or weaker? I value your opinion so just throw out your best guess. It looks as though it will keep its intensity. Not sure if it will be all snow, though. I'm talking to a friend in Austin rig...
