Re: Hurricane Karl In The Bay Of Campeche
You can see a very small pin-wheel eye on the IR sat. Hopefully this will spare populated areas. This is the worst-case TC scenario...RI close to shore with little time for the general public to prepare.

Re: Invest 92L Eastern Caribbean Sea
Very true srainhoutx. Its never over until tropical development potential is on land. We are near the peak of the season and should be prepared....forecasts/patterns can change.

Re: Invest 92L Eastern Caribbean Sea
I agree with Ticka and WXman57. This will be BOC and MX storm with the ridge this week. We should thankful of the ridge for its protection. I for one do not want another IKE, Alicia, Carla, 1915, 1900, 1943, 1949, etc. The ridge saved the Upper Texas Coast from Gilbert, Allen, and Anita.

Re: The Great 1900 Galveston Hurricane 110 Years Ago
A sad day in tropical weather history for the Upper Texas Coast. Many years later IKE was a good reminder of the power of a storm surge. Rita as wake-up call for me. I learned I had been complacent being a tropical weather fanatic. We did not have many threats when I was young...Delia 63, Anitia 77,...

Re: TS Hermine Gulf of Mexico
Hermine is just like his brother Humberto......close to shore with RI. The most difficult situations for tc preparations . We make many plans based on several days but what if you had 24 hours to prepare for a CAT 3-5? It does occur and Charley was a prime example

Re: TS Alex. 200 Miles E of Belize City
Alex is a very large June system. More models are coming in line with Euro which points to a NE MEX landfall. Joe Bastardi is also calling for a NE MEX landfall but did state it could be close to S TX. He believes this will become the first hurricane of the 2010 season.

Re: 93L Central Caribbean. RECON Scheduled!
Invest 93L looking more organized. From Joe Bastardi's morning post:
So strap in, here we go. The tropics are bubbling and the lid is about to pop off for our first impact threat of the season.
