Re: July 2018: Weekend/Early Next Week Rain Chances

I got almost 2” yesterday and finished July with just over 10”. A great way to finish the month.

Rain chances lowered to 50% for tomorrow. Figures...

Re: July 2018: Weekend/Early Next Week Rain Chances

Similar to today, with calm winds, tomorrow is shaping-up to be another air quality alert day.

Incidentally, I just did a lookup:

Houston Air Quality: 161, Unhealthy
Tampa Air Quality: 7, Good
St. Pete is at 2. TWO. That's pretty amazing.

At home - Spring is at 152, Unhealthy.

Re: July 2018: Weekend/Early Next Week Rain Chances

St. Augustine is a beautiful place. The sand is pink-ish, similar to some of the beaches in the Bahamas. South Beach is a fun place to visit but I'd never want to live down in SE Florida....way too crowded, congested, and expensive. I prefer the Gulf Coast around the Tampa and Sarasota areas...more ...

Re: July 2018: Weekend/Early Next Week Rain Chances

I can't stand these Texas summers and droughts any more. I'm done. Throwing in the towel. I'm moving to the Great State of Florida as soon as possible....which in reality will be about 3 years from now. But I have a plan and a goal :-) hahahahah what makess Florida "cooler" than the Great...

Yep, looks like today is it for a long time. So thankful I got .78” yesterday. In a few weeks we’ll be begging for rain again.

Re: July 2018: Slow Drying Trend Expected/Here Comes The Hea

Tim Heller Retiring....... I saw that. I always wondered why he left the DFW market - perhaps it was a bit too competitive with aces like David and Troy. I wonder if this was voluntary or due to budgets and the station trying to save money. We’ll probably never know but the skeptic in me bets he wa...

Re: July 2018: Slow Drying Trend Expected/Here Comes The Hea

I know they are not true “smoke stacks”. That’s just me typing in a pinch while riding as a passenger on the road. But there’s a lot more getting released than we hear about. I used to commute into town on the East Freeway, I-10, and by Mercury drive it smelled like a combination of bleach and vineg...

Re: July 2018: Slow Drying Trend Expected/Here Comes The Hea

Here's something random because I don't see this every day. Riding along the east belt and then I-10 east this morning, you can see cumulus clouds (the only ones in the sky this early) forming out of the smokestacks from the chemical plants all along the ship channel. Quite a fascinating sight to se...
