Re: July - Increasing Rain Chances/Tropical Wave

I know it's probably nothing, but got excited when I saw NWS LCH include "Gusts" in our Beaumont forecast for Sunday. :o Although the gusts are a terrifying 25mph, they still felt the need to include it. :P LOLOLOL Beaumont "Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1pm....

Re: July - Increasing Rain Chances/Tropical Wave

Ok, now Im confused. Why does NWS Corpus show this low moving inland south of Corpus and NWS Houston shows the low moving inland around Galveston? How can two NWS locations side by side show something so different? Is it coming onshore near Corpus or Houston? Im confused!

So KPRC is saying that the whole Texas Gulf Coast is in the same boat when it comes to this tropical weather?
According to their newscast and this graphic they released on FB, it sounds like it!

Also, the NAVGEM (formally NOGAPS) is showing the system coming onshore Galveston/Houston area. Everyone will need to keep an eye on weather news this weekend!

Re: 92L: Central Atlantic

If 92l goes into NMX or STX, I will be so upset. They have gotten several disturbances over the past few years and left us in northern Tx high and dry. We need that rain whether its a tropical storm or not.

Re: Invest 90 L: Gulf Potential First Week Of June

Headed N/NE between NO to and FL. As usual...seems like TX will get gypped of any type of tropical moisture. IF anything forms, we will be on the HOT and DRY side! :( I sure hope this is'nt the future trend for the 2013 season. :? <sigh>

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: Downgraded To TS. Inland In LA

I give up on the "is it going west now" questioning.....I think everyone else has too. Very quiet in here now.... I for one (along with many of you) am extremely tired and will be glad for a break after this. I was JUST sitting here at work thinking about how I get to go home and wa...

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Being here in Beaumont, the winds have picked up quite a bit and many WB sites reporting gusts to 30 and over. It's pretty cloudy here. No sunshine at the moment. Kind of that feeling you get when you know a storm is coming (even though we know it's not.) Currently at work in downtown Beaumont 13 st...

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Not understanding local mets here in BPT. They are forecasting their 5 day and saying barely any rain if any at all and a possible gust of 20! BUT...according to the NWS, they have the Tropical Storm Conditions possible logo for today and tomorrow and stating an 80%-100% of rain and gust as high as ...

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Ok...I'm confused, and correct me if I am wrong. The ridge of high pressure rotates clock-wise, right? If he is nudged up against the ridge of high pressure, then why isn't he shunted west? Or even southwest for that matter? And just MAYBE, according to the NHCs track (and the discussion post above)...
