Re: March 2024

I managed to get a surprise .24” yesterday evening all in about 5 minutes. NWS raised Friday’s rain chances to 70%. Hopefully not another Lucy. At least after the next front it will be back to normal for awhile. Looks like a pleasant way to start spring break. I'm already seeing the cap mentioned i...

Re: February 2024

user:null i unfortunately think the only way we are going to see widespread rain this summer is via the tropics, and thats looking like a very active season potentially, i hate the blast furnace weather, but also hoping this isnt the year that we get slammed by a strong hurricane either Hopefully i...

The humidity is pretty much gone now that the front has passed. Tomorrow is a chance for rain. Don’t expect much though.

Re: February 2024

Y’all city folk don’t have to deal with it like I do living out in the country out in the open. Crap is annoying. Unfortunately, the next 6 weeks or so will probably have lots of windy days. It’s that time of year. But Jasons2k is not a "city person", though — he lives in The Woodlands, w...

89 here today and it’s only February. On a serious note, we need to get prepared for a mostly dry, cap-filled spring. Not just because it’s hot today, but because the way the recent and forecast trends are unfolding. We are drying out fast and the dryness of Northern Mexico & SW Texas is going ...

Wider views of the NMME and CanSIPS: As you can see, not really much of a difference between the two models. Pretty good agreement. FWIW "We expect that the Gulf Coast, especially the Texas Coast, will be at a higher risk for direct impacts from a tropical system this year." Paul Pastelok...

Re: February 2024

Tropical season could be supercharged. Yes, I've noticed quite a bit of predictions regarding an active cyclone season for summer 2024. I'm not sure if it's simply via Nina baseline, or if there is some other special phenomenon that is coming into play this year. Record high SST’s and low trades.

In English tireman4, if you please. If this year’s February is turning out to be a wimpy one Winter wise than just so. If this month is going to end up or might end up being not that wintery than just say so. I, for one, do not want or need to get any of my hopes up. Winter ended 3-4 weeks ago. Spr...
