Re: February Weather. Arctic Cold Front/Severe Storms Tuesd
GFS has really cooled off for next week much more in line with the CM Cand ECMWF GFS is showing 22 Thursday and 19 for Friday for IAH. Not ready to go that low just incase some weak overrunning clouds linger and help us out at night. If clouds clear look for teens N of US 59 possibly Thursday AM an...

Re: TS Alex. 215 Miles ESE of La Pesca. 70 MPH/980 MB
Well, with my exit from this forum, I must say that this has been one of the most difficult storms to predict. The models were all over the place for days, as were conditions that would manipulate him. In the end, we have come full circle to the first suggested landing. Alex had many opportunities ...

Here's a pretty cool pic from G-Town Surf.com in Galveston of an outer rain band from Alex. Won't be long now before buckets of wet stuff:

Re: TS Alex. 335 Miles ESE of La Pesca. 70 MPH/983 MB
Here's 2 graphics comparing the 2 "latest" visible sat images. I thought it was pretty cool to see Alex gaining strength: note the storms firing up in the NE quadrant and the "tightening" of the bands filling in to the WNW.

Re: TS Alex. 85 Miles WNW of Campeche. 60 MPH/989 MB
Regardless of how far north he comes in, upper TX coast is in for some coastal flooding. 15' swell's ... Re: TS Alex. 85 Miles WNW of Campeche. 60 MPH/989 MB
Alex is looking pretty weak at the moment. I'm wondering if it will get back to hurricane strength. What's the shear looking like down there? A little wind shear in NW quadrant expected .... should keep Alex from hurricane strength for about 24 more hours. Last several hours of visible shows little...

Re: TS Alex. 85 Miles WNW of Campeche. 60 MPH/989 MB
Its the nature of the beast DIva. It's called "wish casting" You have two camps; one camp will dismiss any chance of a local impact. The other camp will outright "root" for the storm to impact their local area, out of some sick excitement the storm will generate. Who can forget ...

Re: TS Alex. 100 Miles WSW of Campeche. 45 MPH/991 MB
TWC starting to hint at a more northern track for alex  Did Al Roker say that, or that former McDonald's clown who reads borthdays for centenarians on the back of Smucker's jars? If the models threatening Texas are already wrong, shouldn't this reinforce the belief in a Mexico landfall? I wi...

Re: TS Alex. 100 Miles WSW of Campeche. 45 MPH/991 MB
06Z Early Tracks... Mainly just "lurk" for info and I appreciate everyones knowledge. I had an observation that maybe can be explained ..... Based on that early track, it appears Alex wants to take a turn northward after landfall - and most all models agree with the northward turn once ov...

Re: February Weather Discussion. WSW Issued! Snow/Sleet/Rain?
Maybe someone can answer this: just an observation, but based solely on the radar animations, it looks as if the main energy of the gulf low seems to be concentrated in and around Houston area. It appears that there are storms forming to the SW near Goliad, but the line seems to be moving East at a ...

Re: February Weather Discussion. WSW Issued! Snow/Sleet/Rain?
At work in Deer Park close to La Porte: moderate steady rain and occasionally minor sleet mixing in a little (very little, but definitely frozen stuff) I guess it could be all the sea gulls too, but it sounds frozen. Hitting the tin roof and it's making me sleepy. Gonna be a terrible drive ho...

Re: Cold weather on the way next week maybe wintry precip too!?
Snippet from NWS - winter will not be over just yet after this little blast on the 11th/12th. Looks like the deep flow pattern we've had will continue till end of the month. 8-14 DAY OUTLOOK FOR FEB 12 - 18 2010 THE LONG WAVE PATTERN IN GENERAL OVER THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE SEEMS REMARKABLY STABLE, AN...
