Re: August 2014 - Watching The Gulf/Increasing Rain Chances

There's a pretty large plume heading ashore towards Beaumont... let's hope it can sustain.

Re: September 2014: football, Fall and tropical activity?

Like April, September is a cruel month. Many things happened in the month of September. Interestingly, some of the deadliest disasters in American history occurred in September, 1900 Galveston Hurricane, 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane, and 9/11. 1900 Great Galveston Hurricane-September 8, 1900 12,000 Ki...

We had rain approaching the metro area right before lunch and it fizzled out entirely. Talk about a buzzkill.
If you need another buzz, take a quick look to your north right now... ;)

It sure didn't fall apart as it moved in here. Might have even built a little as it approached. 1" since 8:15. :)

Re: June 2014: WET & WILD OR HIGH & DRY?

It may or may not miss MBY, and since my wife has apnea but won't see a sleep specialist, ear plugs in and even if it thunders like mad, I'll miss it. I'm not super fond of my own CPAP, but at least I don't snore anymore. Juuuust a bit too much non-weather-related information, Special-Ed... :D Slee...

Re: May 2014, Cooler Weather

5.6" here overnight to go with the 2.55" last Thursday.

I see another disturbance heading this way from Austin. For the first time in over 4 years, I actually wouldn't mind if it misses me.

Don't get me wrong... I'm delighted. :D Maybe we've delayed the wildfires by a few more weeks.

New stuff firing east of the RGV with Houston in its trajectory if it holds together. At least the cap is vanquished.

Lots of new activity firing in the Hill Country. There's hope for you yet, Ed. Or at least for your lawn.

What bust? 1-1/2" here so far. :D But we must remember SE TX stops around Veterans Memorial and Bedias doesn't add a drop of runoff to our area lakes. ;) Oh, contrair... We are in the Trinity River watershed, which feeds lake Houston. Maybe your tap water doesn't come from there, but WxDude57'...

Re: April: Dry Pattern Ahead but Keeping an Eye on the Weeke

Call me Debbie Downer or whatever...but I've just lost hope. Another round this weekend 'mainly north of College Station to Livingston'. It's always the same. Time to face reality -- there's going to be another round of dead trees even if The Nino tries to save us this summer. It will be too late. ...

Re: March: Slight Risk Severe Storms This Saturday

It's 3.14. Happy pi day! ...And Happy Pi Day to you too...!! Pi = 3.14159 So technically it's pi when you truncate to 2 decimal places. Note that next year it will be pi if you truncate to 4 decimal places... and the following year will be exactly pi if you round to 4 decimal places, 3.1416. I know...
