Re: October: Strong Cold Front Friday/Rain Chances Next Week?
I got more rain (0.79") in one hour this morning than I've had in total since mid July. That was rough.

Re: October cold front--time for change....
It appears to me from my untrained eye that the 12Z Euro has that NW Caribbean crawler headed toward the TX coast until the front in question actually comes all the way through and causes it to curve toward FL. So if there is skepticism (which I share) that the front makes it through... does that op...

Re: September 2019 - Wet Weekend Likely
I'm thinkin' we might want to change the title of this thread.
Oh well... never mind. I'm hoping for a wet October, though.

Re: October cold front--time for change....
I do see the ECMWF/GFS are suggesting a robust monsoonal/Central America gyre developing as October begins. Conditions in the Western Caribbean and portions of the Gulf could be rather favorable for tropical development as a new month begins. The Eastern Pacific is another favorable location, parti...

Re: September 2019 - Imelda Remnants/Calmer WX Ahead
It's time that I took the baton from jasons regarding the drought. A tropical storm hit the HGX CWA dead-center this week. I live in the HGX CWA. Some folks got FEET of rain. I got bupkus . Oh maaaybe 0.08" in a dying shower. To those of you who got water in your home, my heart goes out t...

Re: September 2019 - Imelda Weakens. Flash Flood Watch/Heavy Rainfall Threat
The "bands" feeding in from the northwest appear to be developing some spotty showers. Maybe she won't stay completely asymmetric after all.

Re: September 2019 - Imelda Weakens. Flash Flood Watch/Heavy Rainfall Threat
So far, huge bust roughly north and west of downtown Houston. All the heavy stuff is south and east. No 30” for Waller, no widespread 20” for NW Harris...but that’s a good thing. I’d like to get some rain out of this though - geez. It is finally raining harder than a sprinkle here, and the core fin...

The 9.6" I received since noon yesterday brings my 3-day total to over 23" here in northern Grimes County.
...And apparently lots more to come.

I recorded 9.7 inches overnight... and actually that all happened in a 5-1/2 hour period. Crazy downpours and amazing lightning.

Today, we could feast.
I hear 'ya. After a month and 5 days without measurable rain... a quick half inch today. Such a blessing. Sure hope the pattern has changed.

Re: AUGUST 2018 - Pattern Change/Wetter & Cooler WX Likely
Not a drop here in far north Grimes County since July 5. Praying for relief at the end of this week... but hopes have been dashed so many times over the last 3 weeks.
